Remington?
Have a look at their new line of "All American Guns" made in Russia!!
Now they have this Double Barrel Rifle from Russia. What a horrible gun! Machine marks all over the surface. Then they put red "Remington" on the side, not even engraving, just some kind of print on.
Remington has been losing money since like 2002. It's just as bad as the Big 3. Just look at Winchester!
Good luck!
...so let me get this straight, you deride American and Russian guns, and love Chinese guns? You've lost me. Americans, Germans, English, some Italians, Czechs, Finns etc make good guns. Russia makes OK to marginal guns. China makes marginal to OK guns. There's no best, better, or worst. Sometimes, even the good guys build crap. However, crap, the 870 is not. The Grizz... it's mediocre.
And, forgive me to those who argue Remington's like the big three and builds obsolete products, but can you give me a breakdown of what you believe has changed in bolt action and pump action firearms technology since 1918? NOTHING. What should they do, add more plastic? I get a kick out of folks and their ideas here sometimes... I actually really don't like the Remington 700, but I have to say, it is one of the most accurate out of the box rifles going. It's also good enough for the US military and secret service snipers... Obsolete? Tell them that. Oh yes, but we're discussing shotguns... how about this, what does a Benelli Navo do that an 870 doesn't?
Nothing.
Orrr.... better yet, what does an Grizzly do that an 870 doesn't? I think this thread gives the answer there! ...besides supporting communist China over the country that benefits us most that is.
If you buy a Remington for $299, you won't have to replace a thing. Buy a Canadian made, Dlask barrel in your choice of lengths and then you have a combo hunter/defence gun with, in my case, both 12.5" and 26" Rem Choke barrels that swap back and forth in about 10 seconds. Buy a Grizzly... that's all you've got, a Grizzly. Add some Remington parts to make it work right... and you really should have bought the Remington in the first place.
Now, am I upset Grizzlies are on the market? HECK NO! Gets more people into shooting. But they're toys... to some, that's all the want and need, all the more power to them. Myself, I just picked up one of Remington's latest production 870 Expresses for a smidge over three hundred bucks... it's damn good. They've actually even upped the quality, internal components are polished now and are more reminiscent of older vintage guns and quality. And I won't need to replace any parts with Remington ones...
