Sorry I wasn't around to help you finish up, Phil.

Great project!

i need to take pictures, make some other measurments and finish the charting. working a lot and on a way to a move (staying in the Yukon) seems i have a lot to do ...

:) Looking forward to any and all of your input on the topic Phil. Hate to admit it, but with the initial accuracy results with the 285gr PRVI, plus 'playing' with other recent 'toys', I haven't done any further load testing with the .366 Wagner. Along with the 285gr cast bullets I picked up from a gent up your way, I also have a 'decent' selection of other bullets in a variety of weights, that I have yet to run tests on.;)Any day now.

PM on the way as we speak.

Before you get too far down that road you need to load a mag full of factory ammo into the rifle and see if the rounds will feed out of the mag and into the chamber. They won’t chamber, of course, but should at least go half-way in if your project is going to work.

Posting this answer here because you would not be the first person to want to do this and get surprised after the barrel was installed. I have personal experience with two bolt rifles that ended up not feeding properly.

They were not mine, but I handled both, and neither would feed from full magazines. Two rounds were all that could be successfully loaded into the mag and used properly.

Did you find a solution to improve the feeding issue from a full mag, and if so, what was that?

Unfortunately, rifles with detachable magazines are next to impossible to alter to correct feeding. :(

Ted

A short while back I purchased, ;) from a couple of gents on site, a pair of Wby Vanguard S2 blaze firearms. In a  weak moment, I also ordered a higher capacity detachable magazine set for both. Not :( one of my better 'investments'. After 'trying' that set-up on them, I changed my mind and went back to the original configuration. Never tried the feeding issue much, but it wasn't the 'look' I wanted in a hunting firearm.

worth to watch the video even if this is in french ...

spoiler alert:
the accubond did not make it ...

Interesting. It confirms that Accubond 250 at the low speed of 1900 fps (if I understood correctly) does not expand well. This is well known but this is not where the Accubond shines. High speed at around 2500-2650 fps and high BC makes it a great all around bullet for the 9.3x62.

Amazing PRVI though! and Funny guys: 'ruée veers l'or' and 'condo à cheveruil...'.

if that is the case how come that the bullet is destroyed ... not the problem of the expansion but the real problem of cohesion of the bullet. what i can say is the accubond does not like at all water ... which we know even our game are full of.

Precisely, and why they are referred to as Accubombs by more than a few guys. Another interesting thing about them is they often lose the plastic tip before being fired.

They do perform better than the Hornady 286gr, however.
