91/59 Mosin Nagant?

Personally I don’t like the idea. The reason being is the potential for people to try to pass them off as legit 91/59s. Kind of like the German guns that people stamp a bunch of Waffenamt marks all over.

Sounds like Mitchell's magical mystery mausers.

I really like my M-38s. Great truck guns. They're getting hard to find so I say go for it. Maybe in 40 yrs or so they'll drive up the value of non 'sporterized' full length ones like the 303s. The full length rear sight will be the giveaway to what they are.
I removed the horrible red refurb shellac on one of mine with a rag and thinner. It left a really nice light natural finish that looks great. If you're going to cut them down, you might as well go all the way and strip the stocks.

Honestly as an M44 owner I think it's an interesting idea just because the supply on the real ones has all but dwindled, and it might give people a chance to enjoy a Mosin carbine which I think are a ton of fun and really handy. With so many 91/30's out there I don't think it'll hurt anyone too bad especially considering you're looking at using counter bored ones.

It would be real nice if Marstar would include some info about projected pricing. Hard to say if I give a crap without knowing what it would cost...

I like the idea.

This would depend on price as it would with most. If you can do this for a reasonable price point and a "like new" appearance/ quality.. I'm in.
