91/59 Mosin Nagant?

Oh, I did the same thing myself!

I mean, aside from all the other non-91/59 sporterizations.

That's really tastefully done mate

I have a better pricing suggestion! a carbine is 25% shorter then a full length rifle, so Marstar should actually sell them at a 25% lower price! :onCrack:

I remember the story about the White man trading for furs with the natives...a pile of furs up to the tip of the rifle...so they made longer rifle barrels.
So they will take a $400. gun and work it and price it at $400? Ain't gonna happen, but we can wish.

So we built one, and it looks great.
I will point out that the guns that were selected for this project are pretty rough, which is why we chose them. So you can expect them to be "fair" condition rifles overall. Light corrosion on bolt and receiver can be expected, the rifling on many of these Mosins are rough, and some metal parts may have pitting. Since we have no official drawings or machining jigs, every rifle will vary slightly. The bayonet will not fit the rifle due to the thickness of the barrel. Barrel band does not fully connect, but still holds tight.

The process took a little longer than we had planned, but we think we can bring the time down a bit by doing a production run of a few rifles.

Price will be 550$-600$ depending on the final time it takes.

Forgot to mention markings, how do you want these rifles marked?
We are open to suggestions on this, they can also be left bare but we would prefer to mark them with something unique to prevent them from being mistaken as original "91/59" Mosins.

Looks pretty good actually! Are you going to refinish the stock as well? A stamped mark on the receiver side would look cool IMO. No ugly laser engraving please.

Maple leaf cartouche on the right side of the butt with some red shallac

$600 or less for a nice handy woods carbine chambered in a readily available cartridge, and it takes (crappy) stripper clips? Wow, that's super tempting, actually. I may just have to pick up one (or more!) when they go one sale, especially if you stamp a maple leaf into them like Tomasaurus said!

I would like to see a pic of the front sight with a better display on how the front sight base is mounted. TIG? MIG?

Another front sight question - Marstar, did you test fire the rifle to confirm POI? Just to make that the rifle shoots straight and not two feet high or low after the sights were moved?
