Wow. Another CGN thread ruined by guys who don't want to take the time to do the research, or even read what's posted in the thread!
Misanthropist posted a link that should be the end of the discussion.
But yet, we still have people posting about "flying trash cans", members who take their "testing" on hard drives and golf balls as hard evidence, and guys worried about getting pocket lint stuck in their pistol???
It truly boggles the mind.

So to answer the OPs question: yes, 9mm is big enough.
I agree forest...no amount of mag capacity will ever replace shot placement..
Do you get the felling your post went over everyones head?

9mm, 45 acp are all weak rounds. You throw a 308 win in there and you got a winner... They just don't come in a small handgun package... Shot placement is aways the key and how fast someone can get to the hospital if they get there fast enough they have high odds of surviveing 3 out of 10 people shot with a handgun die. That means 7 out of 10 live. Now switch to a rifle or shotgun and the numbers change allot. 2 out of 10 people shot with a rifle live and 8 out of 10 die. It's 30 percent pistols 80 percent rifle and shotguns. The way a firearm kills someone is by bleeding or destroy a vital organ like the brain or heart. Is a 9mm a weak caliber yes it is can it still kill someone defeantly is it the best round for everything no thats why the military uses rifles and the pistol is a backup.
Here is a video that goes through the stats ect
So basically your whole lint theory is to justify you wanting to carry a revolver. Which is fine, but that doesn't make auto loaders more susceptible to lint. And if you think slipping an falling in mud will magically stop a glock or another modern auto loader form working you need to do more research.

Tap-rack-bang may work with a human assailant, but not a brown bear closing in on you.
Fair enough. But a dud primer will stop an autoloader cold (even one with a restrikable trigger), while a revolver will simply rotate a new round into fire. Tap-rack-bang may work with a human assailant, but not a brown bear closing in on you.
I Drache covered the tap rack well. There is a reason that revolvers are no longer used, it is old technology. That while still perfectly functional is inferior to current offerings.

Try to get a wilderness permit with an auto. Not happening in BC. I guess somebody forgot to tell the CFO that revolvers were obsolete.
