A brand new type of rimfire event .... introducing ACTION 22!

Hey... Until you have an 88 page rulebook, divisions and a classification system you have nothing!:D

Post some rules! Is it limited to .22?

The match will be limited to rimfire rifles and at this point just .22s, but I am open to whatever other rimfire rounds might be out there.

You should bring your 17HMR by and test it out on some of our steel ... if it doesn't beat it up we'll allow that round too.

At this stage my thought is to work the match as a series of limited time stages. Stages would be simplified versions of Tac Rifle with way more steel involved. The idea would be to see how many targets could be hit within a limited time frame. We could have separate categories for semis, and non semis.

We have some more thinking to do before we arrive at the final details ... I will post updates here.

How many mags!

I've got four, 25rnd magazines ;) Enough?

Oh, I don't know ... how well can you shoot?

I should think that under normal circumstances 4x25 will more than suffice! :ar15:

We've had some success with:

class1 auto, magazine fed

class2 pumps/levers/autos, that are tube fed

class3 bolt guns, any mag type inc single shot.

Anything else, and you go nuts with variations.

gothmog,if you want steel targets, I can make up a bunch of them. They will all be mild steel, not AR plate, but that will be fine for .22 rimfire.

Wow that is my kind of event! Where do I sign in? What if I have smaller (7rounds) magazines - any handicap? I'd love to take part or at least seeing this kind of competition would be very entertainy.

I suppose I should mention that we have two Event dates planned ... June 24 and August 19, both Sundays. It should be a great time ... reserve the time in your schedule if you can.

We have a few things to discuss, it seems ... you still have my cell number? Call any day after 6pm. :)

I just found out a fellow student from another pursuit of mine has a PAL and a 10/22! Should I extend an invitation to him? Is it going to be newbie-friendly enough for a dedicated crown-land plinker to join the fun?

Yes by all means .... this will be an entry level sport. We will likely simplify our Tac Rifle courses of fire somewhat to facilitate this.
