A brand new type of rimfire event .... introducing ACTION 22!

It's too bad the June event is being held on the same weekend as the precision rifle match out at Volkes... I understand why you decided the dates (saw the other post) but I would like to both compete in 'action 22' and spectate the precision rifle event.

All I can really say to that is 'there will be more ... '

The club only has so many Sundays free to stage matches on, and that is further reduced by the numbers of Sundays I am available when I also have time the Saturday before to set up the match. The 24th was one such date, but of course the Volkes Service Rifle event was taking place on that weekend. This made Tac Rifle (another event which I run) a poor choice on the 24th as many of the competitors shoot both events, but in my view Action 22 would likely draw many participants with no interest in Service Rifle.

Perhaps I am wrong, but it seemed a reasonable choice given the challenges of making the various schedules jive. Besides, you won't have too long to wait for the next Action 22 match in August ... ;)

Sounds good to me. And maybe we can have an informal 'practice' or orientation session for us newbs who've never shot in competition before and who are in all likelihood really bad at the whole thing to begin with?

We'll keep it very simple, I promise ... and fun! :D

Please take a chance on this event we've run user friendly events for some time and this will be especially so.

If you set up a separate class, you'd be surprised at the number of people that want to give it a go, just to try.

No doubt.

Reminds me of when Helno had the 22 upper for his AR that would always jam. Had a race with a cooey 39 to see who could get off 10 aimed shots the fastest.

LOL the Cooey won!!

Sounds like a great time!!! I just picked up a 10/22 today so count me in. :D

Cool ... another new participant. Welcome aboard!! :)

Will there be any Remington 597 shooters at this event I wonder ... or will it be all Ruger?

Hey, did I miss the date and time of this match- couldn't find it in the prior posts.
Thinking it's 24 June ( time...?), my daughter and I will be there...
Hoping low cap (the daughter's Lakefield 64B, and my rebuilt Squires Bingham 20A...) won't be to much of a draw back...

Well it shouldn't get in the way of enjoying yourself!! :D Bring extra mags if you have 'em.

Mind you, if enough people post what kind of gun they will bring I can get a better sense of how to structure the match.

The first Action 22 match will be June 24 as stated.

I have also posted the dates on the CGN calendar .... thanks for the interest guys! Keep it coming!:)

Of course, I just ordered a second mag for both the Lakefield(10 rnds), and the SB (15 rnds), before I saw this post.....Guess I've got to reorder from Numrich's, now...
At least the Cambodian $ is at an all time high.....
Lookin' forward to good .22 fun.....

I'll see if I can dig up some extra Lakefield or other 22 mags from the spares box ... as loaners, mind you. Just bear in mind that you're the competition, so no guarantees on how well they work! ;)
