A brand new type of rimfire event .... introducing ACTION 22!

make a .22 pistol match and I'll come out :D

I have a 10/22 but I don't see how I could shoot it with a 3-9 rifle scope on it. it would take me 5 secs to find each target and line up... need dot scopes for this I guess?

they get over 100 people for ipsc matches.. there is a few parking lots. and most of the road is wide enough for people to park along the side.
 
Scott, keep the scope at the lowest power and shoot with both eyes open .... I'll probably use a 2-7x on my rifle, we'll see how that works. A guy could always take the scope off and just use irons ...
 
Unfortunately I am out of town on business this weekend.:mad:
It figures my first business trip of the year falls on the weekend I have been most looking forward too. :bangHead:

Its just about needing the votes to overturn this policy.

In any event this is a Tac Rifle issue and really nothing to do with Action 22, IMO. In TacRifle a case might be made that this was a step towards preparing for 2 gun events. I'm not sure what the rationale for a holstered CF pistol in a rimfire match would be.

Look-cool-factor, obviously! :rockOn: Plus, I'm sure some nut over at Frugal Squirrels has a hypothetical rimfire-only SHTF scenario.. so get that .22 1911 conversion out, because centerfire ammo is gone! :rolleyes: .. LOL
 
I agree that it would be cool to work .22 pistols into the match at some point. (I am somewhat handy with my single six and would enjoy going to bat against some semis even though I know I would likely be at a disadvantage)

I thinks its more than enough of a chalenge to just work on using 1 gun for now tho.

As for what to wear...

Who cares what you wear... as long as you are wearing something!

Just back from helping Gothmog and Boondock Saint setup for the match. The plan is for four time limited stages - all steel. Its going to be a fun day with plenty of shooting :]

Yes, indeed it looks like a great event! :D

Bring a snack if you need one.

I think we'll be done shooting by early afternoon ... those who are interested can join us at the Golf Course Clubhouse for lunch and a beverage afterwards. :)

The stages consist of 12 and 13 targets, and time allowed will be 30 and 40 seconds respectively. Your score will consist of the number of targets downed minus the number of 'no shoots' hit during the stage so its very simple.

I think it will be a lot of fun ... :dancingbanana:
