This is a brand new, never before done anywhere event!! :dancingbanana:

Action 22 is a sport in which shooters employ fire and movement with 22 semi auto rifles. Large (or 'normal', if you wish ;)) capacity magazines are 'de rigeur' as there will be plenty of targets to shoot and a limited time to get the job done.

We have plenty of steel to shoot in addition to moving targets and barriers.

Anyone with a Ruger 10-22 rifle in the Vancouver area owes it to themselves to check this out, although any semi auto 22 will work just fine. Bring your girlfriends/wives/kids, this should be a great entry level sport. :)

Bring lots of 22 ammo and lots of big mags! :dancingbanana:

Anyone in BC interested??

Sounds great...though I reload and enjoy centrefire, there should be more for the .22-heads, since the sometimes prohibitive ammo costs of IPSC (for example) keeps people away.

I am as they say... "Down!"
I just took my 10/22 out last weekend and ran her through her paces... I'm all set :D

I think that 22 events are a good idea everyone has one in the safe and every can shoot it.I would be ther in a minute if I wasn'up in northern B.C. Let us know how it goes and your course is set up

It's nice to see some interest in this!

We have two matches scheduled this season, June 24 and August 19. I hope we have lots of participants ...

Looks like a lot of fun; one of the most enjoyable 22 events I ever shot was at the Palmyra Sportsmens Association range in Pennsylvania, and they had a bunch of those "flip-over" biathlon-type targets; you put $5 in the pot for every run, and then went to town. At the end of the day, half the money went to the shooter with the fastest run, and the club got the other half.

Cool! Good idea Gothmog, I wonder why no-one's done this before?

Cause they call it something else?

We've been running .22rf (actually any rimfire) "speed shoots" twice annually at BRRC for about three years. $20 entry, 1st, 2nd, 3rd trophies in all classes. Money goes to a local charity called "Strong Kids."

We use falling plates, clays on strings, dueling-trees and IPSC-like "shoot/dont-shoot" azone sized targets.

We run auto and a bolt/pump classes with any optics. You'd be surprised at how quick a CZ425 can shoot!

Gothmog, good on ya mate! Bet you have better turnout than you can handle. Due to our limited indoor size and the fact that everyone wants to try both classes, we're limited to about 20-25 shooters.

I would go if it was in the Edmonton area. Probably even if it was in Alberta.

I'd be there in a second if this was in Manitoba.

+1 if in Calgary.

So start one! It didn't just happen here, Gothmog made it go.

Gothmog, I contacted you a little while ago about a new series that I am going to do for the new CSSA magazine. I'll touch base with you on this new angle, and maybe we can kick-start it into high gear.

good ol' Google Earth...I was thinking to myself, where the heck is Pitt Meadows?!? I see it's more or less just down the street (200th) from Langley, eh? At least I'd be able to find it, hehe. Used to live in Langley near 200th St, down near 53rd and 38th aves. Too bad I haven't picked up a 10/22 yet! Doh! Sounds like great fun! :runaway:

well, I WAS going to sell my Lakefield 64B... but if this works its way to Ontario, I may just keep it and get involved... I like the idea... I hope it takes off.
