a few cats from this guiding season

Great stuff!! Those are either very small men or huge cats...I think the latter.
I hunt with a German Shorthair Pointer, wonderful dog and I have my best hunts along side him.
Ive actually had some of the local hand gunners/ AR15 guys get after me because I use my dog to hunt birds...unbelievable how some of these guys think. I refuse to join the Moose Jaw club because of the stinkin thinkin these clowns have.
Keep up the good work!!!!

Here are a couple more from this weekend. The hounds are rock'n this season.

Keep that one hounds nails clipped.
Has it in his head to get up there with the meeeoow.
Talk about sheer determination.
Big kittens you have there.

Nice kitties. So where abouts is this in BC, how far North?

Everything is more expensive in BC; just look at the housing prices.
Yes, they have big cats, but so do other places, just have to check the record books. Seems to me that whatever species you're hunting in BC, if it's available in another province/state, it's less $. Just my observations and not meant as a flame toward BC outfitters, perhaps they pay their guides more, gov't fees, etc.

Great pictures, Doug. Ignore the ignorant comments.

How long does it take you to train a dog adequately for this hunting?

Ted

Ted, my hounds start running cats at about7 months and by a year they should start there own track and want to finish it as well.

Wow those are some very nice pictures, Where are you hunting for them? Also what do you do with the meat? Can you eat it?

I live and hunt in central BC and you can eat the meat it is very much like pork. Most of my clients meat goes to feeding hounds or on the wolf bait station.

How does this work?
You let your dogs run around the bush till they find a cat, chase it up a tree, and you shoot it while it sits in the tree?

To those people that don't know any better,it may appear to be that easy. I wonder just how many of the people that think that it's so easy , would change their mind, after chasing the dogs through thigh deep snow over dead falls for a mile or two, then take the dogs and the cat back to the truck or the snowmobile through that snow and dead falls. Most of the naysayers would probably be too lazy to even make it to the treed cat.

f:P: Wasn't trying to be rude.. Was just wondering how its done.

How can i big cougar like the ones in those pictures not out run a dog in deep snow? Those cougars have legs twice the size of those dogs.
