Resources, Clinical determination, The shear will, A degree of intellect, and Planning?! how do you legislate against that?. The whole thing could have started with a slingshot bought at Canadian tire and a ball bearing, after that level up to pistol and shotgun. Its not hard to disarm. The absolute will to do it.. now thats something else. Also that scum bag Timothy Mcveigh killed 160+ people and dented the earth with a van and fertilizer. Also Aloha snack baaaars blow up 30-40 every time with bathtub Semtex, and a 5.11 tac vest. Also in England the doctors stitch up more people than Japanese ### doll manufacturers.
I get the arguments from the anti side, I mean a Pmag can be "dropped" and the rivet falls out and then you have a 30 rounder. No need for that in normal society. Ever. Cool to have, and I love them, but really no need for a civilian to have a 30 round mag outside of competition especially in the city. I mean they are pointless in normal every day civilized not Syria living. You can't even argue the self defence thing. Also in a red dawn situation we'd be conducting
asymmetrical warfare at first, so something that holds 5 rounds would do fine. Acquiring the enemies rifles next. I guess limiting the amount of mags a person can have is middle ground.
I also get the argument of not keeping them (carbines) in residences, I mean outside of the odd cuddle what are you going to do with it?, the idea of it being legislated that I keep my carbine at the range or club I'm part of is ok with me. I mean, ranges have storage, and storing your rifle there would be a great way to support the business, the ability to take to other ranges, gun smiths, or even to take home to run drills or some new thing you learned for XYZ days, but rifles being primarily kept at ranges is a decent middle ground i feel. If shooter doesn't return it XYZ days Police are notified and fines get levied.
What I will say is this: The government can't take away my knowledge, the skill i have acquired or the ability to operate a carbine. And I will continue to develop the skill even with one of those blue mock rifles if i have to. Many patriots have trained with a crooked stick and imagination.
But a middle ground has to be found, you can't seize peoples property, and not allowing your populace to practice the art of self defence is a mistake.
