A summary of 5.56 / 7.62x39 Black NR Rifle Options and Prices (Dec 2024)

This list is missing all the pistol caliber black rifle/carbines and rimfire black rifles still available.

lol

The Type-81... everyone thinks it’s worth $1,000,000 now. Why line someone’s pockets for a bullet-hose when your better off spending that kind of money on an American made M+M M10X. Logistically it’s the smarter choice... everything you need is a just a hop-skip across the border.

I feel bad for anyone who pays over $1200 for a Type 81. I had one and sold it to a friend; they’re not that great. Their main selling point is being as close to an AK visually as you can get, which was the only reason I bought one, but I soon realized I much prefer a Vz 58 or CZ 858 (or since they’re now prohibited, a properly bubba’d SKS).

Updated to include the below two new items:

$??? No Dak Spud NDS 18SC

This wee beasty has only just been announced, it appears to be an AR18/180 variant of some sort. NoDak Spud will be supplying the Non Restricted billet lower receiver, Precision Weapon Systems (PWS) will be supplying the upper receiver. PWS has a good history in that it is involved in the design and manufacture of the Brownells 180 upper. Fingers crossed they will be tooled up to put these rifles out in significant numbers.

IRUNGUNS has made the bold claim that: "There is nothing in the Canadian market that will rival this platform." should the WK180C and WS-MCR be shaking in their boots? Time will tell.

$1500 Type 81 LMG 7.62x39

Imported by Tactical Imports, this is the Semi Automatic variant of the Type 81 Light Machine Gun variant. It literally sold out in less than two days, how many they sold is unknown and when we will get another shipment is also unknown.

ACRs are no longer being made. IRG would enable you to buy one from the USA

The ACR may be making a comeback.

Remington recently filed for bankruptcy and sold their assets. Bushmaster was sold to Franklin Armory but new rumors are indicating that the ACR licensing was sold to PSA.

Either of those companies can bring it back. Now will they? Time will tell. If the rumors are true and PSA bought the ACR, then its very likely it'll be revived.

Brat, you are an underappreciated treasure. If you live close to a base I'll try to get a TD to it just to buy you a beer.

Look at the links in the original post, or do a quick google

Don't see any links and don't need to Google either since I have no issue with my rifles or complete conversion kits.

I have to wonder if people complain about self induced issues as being a manufacturers problem instead of what it is.
