I have never signed anything when buying a gun from a store.
Thats 100% inaccurate. You dont have to sign anything ever when purchasing a firearm.

I'm commenting on the RSQ1 and 2.
Never signed any book for a purchase in the last 35 years.
Yup, even in the old LGR days, for my first and subsequent purchases at LeBaron, it was (after selecting the firearm you want to buy):
1. Show PAL at gunshop, they manually wrote up a sales invoice and gave it to me
2. I take sales invoice to cashier and pay, get a receipt
3. I take receipt back to gun shop, they print out something from the government registration and attach it to the invoice and receipt
4. They walk the gun to the front cashier with me and I leave with the new purchase.
For ammo, it was just show PAL at cashier, they write down what I bought in a ledger book (name, PAL number, date, and what I bought) and I walk out.
Nowadays at some shops it is the same thing for ammo with a physical book. Many places have replaced it with a computerized system, but they just take down my PAL number and that's it. No retailers I have been to have taken a copy of my PAL or asked me to produce any further ID or asked me to sign anything.
The only thing I have ever had to sign at a gun shop on a purchase was way back when when you had to sign a credit card receipt but that was at any store that took credit cards back then.
That said, regarding sales records - I am sure the store has them, especially for online purchases - they would need to have your address and such on file to ship the item. Whether that info stays in their system after, who knows.
Just a note the first batch are to the standard tested by their beta tester, with a pencil barrel and non-adjustable gas block. Testing showed rapid fire on the pencil barrel increased the MOA of the rifle beyond that desired by the rifle's sponsor, but the sponsor is offering the first batch for sale for those who value the weight savings of the pencil barrel over an increase in accuracy of a heavier barrel. Final production spec rifles will be released in February with a medium profile barrel and adjustable gas block. Beta/pencil spec purchasers will be sent the adjustable gas block to optionally install when it is available.

80's and early 90's in BC all gun stores had a ledger they maintained for the province, guns were entered in to the ledger when they arrived in store and filled out with the purchasers info when sold, purchaser was asked to sign in the provided space in the ledger.
As time went on, some stores would just sign on behalf of the purchaser, but the info was still recorded. You are naive to think that a firearms retailer did not have to have an accurate inventory system when they were audited as part of their business licence requirements pre computers.
In the late 90's there was the old long gun registry, those ledgers were still in use by retailers, your information was still recorded, who signed the ledger mattered even less as you were mailed a registration certificate.

Hi last comments appear to be him telling scalpers who openly bragged about bulk buying to re-sell that they got silly prizes for playing silly games. That and he mentioned some suppliers of FAMAE 540 rifles, maybe one was a forbidden company name?
Either way CGN decided that banning Bratwurst was a greater priority than the knowledge Bratwurst bought and shared with us all through various lists, posts etc.
