I picked this off the consignment rack at my local gun shop the other day. A nice unaltered Model 70 from 1949 in 270 WCF with a K3 Weaver. Except sometime over the past 74 years someone was painting something white nearby and the gun was covered with overspray. Everything. Even the scope lenses. It was priced accordingly so I bought it.
The paint came off the metal easy enough. The wood was refinished showing a light and dark side to it. Now its as good as new. So much for unaltered.

A thing of beauty. Thanks for sharing your Model 70.

My dream M70 is a CRF .243 Fwt and Compact….. Life is Good!!

Waiting for coyotes to come to the caller. All great fun. Super people, wonderful company, stale jokes; What’s not to like??

Cheers,
Barney

Thanks guys. It turned out great. I have to shoot it to really get excited.
Needs trigger work. 5# is as low as it will go. No nail polish here to scrape off. On the gun anyways. ;)
