ACR Media and Info Thread

If it happens, something is broken or messed up. Should never reciprocate under any circumstances of proper function so that's news to me, so I just looked into it and it's only some early ones and apparently related to a roll pin error (either hole size or pin) on some of the first ones and should be replaced. If this is what's happening its not functioning as designed and should be fixed and thankfully it's an easy fix. Mine does have the marks but it's not from reciprocating it's from dropping the bolt. Looks like a super easy solution to a super minor % affected.

Another day, some more ACR blasting :ar15:

One of these days I'll splurge on a KRG handguard...

I don't think anyone will see anything until 2023, if we see some sort of prototype this year.

Soon to be perfected means the process of perfecting hasn't started yet or still in process. This also means production is not even close, can't produce anything if the design is not done or hasn't started. That also means Capex, materials and labour are not even in the equation, or someone is still playing with these numbers roughly on a spreadsheet, and trying to juggle the numbers to make the project profitable ( ie figure out a target unit cost, collect information from other vendors, give the designer/engineers cost targets to find way to get to that...etc) .

Last comment I read from a few months ago is that the chair of the BOD of Franklin told management to "get on the redesign". When we see some sort of prototype, we can then add a year from that point on.

All I hope for is V1-V? compatibility and parts.

Hot dog! A fellow Nutter hooked me up with a Magpul PTS long handguard, which unlike other knockoff brands, actually fits, and readily accepts the factory Bushmaster heatshield.

Already painted to match, though it is FDE underneath.

ACR barrel question

I have a ACR DMR with the stock DMR barrel. I've recently acquired a lighter profile ACR barrel. I need an adapter that will fit the OEM operating rod block to the smaller ID new barrel. I know this is a 2 piece part that is and has been made. Does anyone have any leads or can help?

Get a 3d printed spacer maybe?

Any local machine shop or gunsmith should be able to make it for you.

Swapped the V1 for a V2 charging handle. Necessitated the removal of barrel, so it'll be easy for anyone with the QD trunnion.

V1 removes out the front, V2 installs from the rear.

Alive and well. A few recents...

Working on a new adjustable gas block, match NR barrels and a few more bits. An absolute joy to shoot, especially when upgraded with the billet lowers and hand guards from Templar.

Guh, I can't wait for the Templar parts to get past CBSA and hit the buyers up here! I've got a lower backordered just to ensure I don't miss out.

What's this about adjustable gas block though? *ears perking up*
