Okay, now bring in the glocks as well. Sell them as .22lr conversions so I can get an olympic exemption for them. Then also sell me the original parts.
only problem is the FRT, I am not sure if they can get FRT for new pistols. The pistol you want will very likely need a new FRT

What do you mean? Any caliber change on a pistol needs to be submitted to the registrar. The handgun registry would show it being a .22lr.
if it has never been sold as a out of factory whole gun. It does not have a FRT. That's what I mean. If you can get new FRTs from these, awesome and thank you.

It doesn't need a factory config for an FRN. All we would need is for one to go to the lab at some point in the past for inspection, if i'm not mistaken. You can look up the FRNs in the FRT on the rcmp website. There very well could be entries for different gens of glock 17s and 19s converted to .22lr in the FRT.

FRN is just a number issued for registration purposes in this case. Why would they stop issuing them? They are dishing out new ones every now and then, for prohibited handguns and automatic rifles, all the time.

Also, installing a .22 slide to a G17 Gen5 frame would retain the parent FRN of the G17 Gen5 (as the frame is the firearm) and only adds a child FRN to it. If one already exists from a different conversion unit then even better - you don't even need a new FRN to be created, and the Registrar can simply update it.

Simple calibre conversions don't even need to be inspected by the lab. It is a common misconception that all guns are inspected - the BFL I work for as a verifier rarely (if ever) send new guns to the RCMP, for example. For firearms that are obviously restricted (say, a handgun with a barrel over 105mm and isn't in .25 and .32), they would simply get the FRT out of the door so you can register it.

The Registry has a team of national-level verifiers that exclusively conducts online verifications and they can greenlight something as simple as a calibre change in less than a week.

I think it's time Tenda starts bringing us in some glocks to go with these conversion kits, then. 😎

With the amount of people showing off their newly acquired .22 handguns, I'm surprised businesses haven't been importing .22LR converted handguns yet lol, something like a CZ Shadow 2 Cadet .22. Just pop a 9mm slide/barrel on later.

There are.
Just looked it up myself. The following are existing approved .22LR Glock conversions in the FRT as Restricted (some have two FRNs, one for Glock GmbH and one for Glock Inc USA):

  • G17 Gen1-3: 19400-9, 143147-6
  • G17 Gen4: 130833-14, 143159-5
  • G19 Gen3: 19402-17, 143144-7
  • G19 Gen4: 143160-8
  • G20 Gen4: 140878-6
  • G22 Gen3: 19405-8, 143162-4
  • G22 Gen4: 130835-4, 143146-4
  • G22C: 29715-5
  • G31: 29131-4
  • G34 Gen4: 134927-8
(G44 obviously doesn't count as it was .22LR to begin with.)

They may not be able to import them depending on how their license is set up. Especially as non-22lr guns - see the notice to importers - https://www.international.gc.ca/con...es/excol-ceed/notices-avis/1106.aspx?lang=eng - but if they find a way - great.

I don't want to pollute a thread in their forum with this tangential discussion, so if you want to hash out the legalities of import of handguns we can do it in the legalese section :)
