AK-47 and AR-15 had a baby the caliber would be .300 Black-out?

.223 length .30 cal. I think it's a tad redundant due to the 7.62x39 being able to be cycled in an AR action, but somewhat better ballistics. It was supposed to give 7.62 NATO ballistics in an AR15 but hasn't seemed to catch on. I really don't understand the Blackout's appeal unless you have access to a surpressor myself....

I guess the appeal would be alot of .30 caliber bullets for hand-loaders,simple upper change-out for AR platform for a new caliber.Deer-pig game capabilities at short to moderate ranges 200 yards max. (legally in most states/provinces)due to .30 caliber bullet.Fits AR style mags and has about the same power as a 30-30 in a modern platform.S&W M&P has great 100 yard accuracy.http://www.smith-wesson.com/wcsstore/SmWesson2/upload/other/PS/2012/OnTargetS&W300.pdf

its a great cqb round with massive tissue damage preferably in a 7.5 inch barrel, very large kinetic energy transfer within cqb distances.

Recently we chronographed some .300 Blackout 110gr VMAX out of 9.3 in barrels, through Oehler Research 36 Industrial system, it was impressive at a pretty consistent 2300 fps with only about -/+ 20 fps ...

Is there anything besides an AR made for .300 AAC? I'm surprised there doesn't seem to be an XCR chambered for it. Rem 700 maybe?

I have shot coyotes with that 110 VMAX and it is nothing short of devastating terminally. Typically left a 4" exit hole and turned the yote's insides into soup. I've never seen anything kill so quickly.

We fired several rounds into a water tank & lets just say recovery was not possible, the fragmentation was unbelievable / devastating is not the word to describe it...

Robinson Arms is coming out with a conversion kit short and Remington has a AAC 700 that has been around for a couple of years now.

30 Ar is definitely the way to go, especially if it is in a NR rifle and big game hunting is one of your goals. 300whisper/black is not worth the extra cost when 7.62x39 is readily available, vastly cheaper with very similar ballistics.

I have an AR, a conversion kit for my ACR (barrels for both compliments of Suputin) and I also have a Rem 700 SPS in an AICS chassis in 300BLK. I love the cartridge. There are some great factory loads out there for it but I handload for mine and have loads for everything from 110gr to 208gr projectiles and everything in between. I've never shot an animal with it but plan to this hunting season. In my Rem 700 and my ACR my 155gr supersonic load is giving me 0.85moa most days and when I'm shooting poorly or the conditions aren't great that opens up to around 1 moa. I trust it to take down a deer at 150 yards or less without any problem at all. Understand it's limits and choose an appropriate bullet for the task at hand.
300BLK is not for those that don't reload unless you either have deep pockets or don't shoot much.
It's my favorite cartridge to shoot in any of the platforms I have for it, the recoil impulse is very nice and it smashes the gongs nicely.
