Really??, I didn't miss anything. It is still Rick's responsibility, no matter how many steps or how much time spent. The OP has NO Standing with any ins. claim. The person/business who took ut the ins. must deal with it. Rick also may have a claim with CP over time spent, but that's a seperate matter.
Also op may have been able to file a claim with his homeowners ins. if guns/sporting goods are on his policy. Ours are. Then his insurer could have dealt with CP. This is the route I would have taken. Wouldn't affect your rates as 3rd. party liability comes in.
I'd bet a paycheck that Rick wishes he would have just sent the guy a new gun and been done with it, but between him and CP they must return op's property in similar condition to what went in the box @ CP.
Start dealing?!? Folks, this damage occurred in February, why hasn’t a claim been started yet? I have multiple emails sent to Rick expressing concern with the delay, telling him I needed the Rifle for a course in April. I also told Rick from the beginning, I have no interest in a repaired rifle, I shipped him a brand new rifle (47 rounds). For those of you that don’t believe me, why would I go through the time and expense to have my rifle ceracoated if it is as old as Rick claims. This SHOULD have been dealt with between Chris and myself, there was zero need to take this public, especially the initial thread before even allowing me time to start to deal with the damage CP caused. As stated I believe there is a hidden agenda here and I do not play those games well.
The damage occurred in February, this has been going on for 4 months now, how do you explain that delay? The strike started last week.We spoke 4 days ago, CP does not work weekends and neither do I, just as the postal strike was announced. To date no-one from C Post has returned my 5 calls, maybe they ARE on strike??
Outright lie, the pictures of the packaging posted prove that.I have done everything I can to solve the problem, yet you figured that by posting a flamer here it would turn up the heat and I would give in and supply you a new rifle DESPITE the fact my only involvement was shipping the rifle back to you in the manner in which you shipped it me, but FAR better packaged.
Why did it take 4 months for you to repair it? Besides, as honest people do, I have the moral obligation to admit this rifle has been damaged and repaired if I decide to sell it, greatly diminishing the value. Are you telling me this is what all customers should expect from ATRS? At no point did I flame ATRS in my original post, I pointed out the facts, that Canada Post damaged the gun, and that it has been four months since the damage occurred. Nothing I said was untrue, yet Rick calls me a liar?!?! Look out folks, this is what you can expect from ATRS.You have not even seen the repaired tang, yet sight unseen you demand a new rifle. Talk about being totally unreasonable .
I’ve asked Rick at least 4 times to provide me with the names of the gunsmiths who examined the rifle, he has yet to provide it. Rick, who are the gunsmiths that examined the Rifle?I HAVE been in contact with Canada Post, they have had an inspector look at the minor damage. I was asked to get 2 more professional opinions as to whether the minor damage was repairable or not, who concluded that the minor damage could be repaired with NO ill effects to the guns effectiveness or accuracy.
Which other two shops?!? I’m asking you publically for this information.Of the $1500.00 insurance claim the payout was $400.00 to repair the tang and CeroKote the barrelled action, which is all it came in for in the first place. This was the amount that the other 2 shops determined to be fair.

I tried to work things out amicably with Rick behind the scene, gave him a chance to make things right before I posted this. Rick, your posts are full of deception and lies

There is no way in hell you will be getting the bolt from my rifle, it’s proof that the rifle was in new condition when I sent it to you, proof that you are lying about the barrel. Ship me back my rifle, I will have it “test fired” and examined by a professional on my end. And I will take someone’s posted advice on here and have my insurance company deal with it.
The bottom line in my experience with Alberta Tactical Rifle: Sent brand new precision rifle (47 rounds) for Cerakoting, getting back a damaged and repaired gun and got called a liar.
I don't know about that. Work done by ATRS, any work...would increase the value...
How about this, I buy your greatly diminished value rifle for the value you think it is, I'll give you 700 bucks for the LIGHTLY-USED (not brand new) rifle. Then I will flip it on the EE stating that it is a ATRS smithed rifle, and I will get 1400 for it (it would of already had the bolt trued to the action too. Good idea?
That's rich....greatly diminishing the value.
I will never send a rifle in the mail to any gunsmith ever. I only deal with a local guy. When he retires or dies I will find another local guy or quit the foolishness of modifying perfectly functional firearms.![]()
I have the same gun brand new in the box trying to sell got no use for it.

The only thing robertf should have to disclose after all this is how he ACTS to any future gunsmith before work.
When you go to sell this rifle you have done more to hurt it's value than ATR did
If I was buying your rifle
Muzzle brake - you can pay for my hearing loss or pay to have the brake and treads cut off and recrowned
Cerakote - I have rifles cerakoted but in this case I wanted a stainless rifle so you can pay to have it removed or take that off the asking price
Jewel trigger - I find the jewels too light for a rifle that is used in the field so can you please supply me with an undamaged factory trigger or just keep the jewel and we will nock off the cost of a factory one (you know just less than the jewel)
The work ATR did - After Rick checks all the specs after you send him your bolt and it checks out I would pay the going price based on what they are worth and not consider the repair a reason for less value
You will never see a return for any of the work you have done for your rifle so send the bolt take your rifle back and shoot it.
The above is my opinion and will differ from the op but my point was its always different depending on who's eyes you look through. I think it's time to just walk away.
Rick- good work but I feel for you as I imagine that after you ship it back you will be accused of switching barrels on him and he will want a match barrel as there just a few dollars more than a factory one you know.
