Alfa Proj .357 Magnum Revolver?

As a new RPAL owner, I would suggest you buy a 9mm semi-auto as your first gun instead of a revolver. Unless you are set up for reloading revolver cartridges, you will not find cheap 38Special /357 mag ammo. So you will have to buy factory ammo.

It has been my experience that new shooters buy 9mm semi-auto guns before going to revolvers. You can buy 1000 factory 9mm ammo for less than C$240.00. Check the Dealer News on this site.

A 9mm can be easier to learn on, mid-priced 9mm guns like the S&W M&P is around C$550.00 new, and you can get more time on a 9mm auto for less money for gun & ammo.

Thanks for the advice! My husband has been in the sport for a very long time so we are set up for reloading. He's looking forward to having my help now. I'm looking forward to learning how to reload as well.

I do plan to get a semi auto as well at some point. It will be a 9mm for sure. Starting with the revolver since I've always wanted one.

I have the 357. Two sets of grips (rubber and wood) - wearing rubber, at the moment. It came with a Rusty Wood weaker spring kit - I installed that, and the 357 ammo I had would not reliably fire on first strike, so put the original heavy spring back in. You can buy speedloaders for it - H&K 10 or 10A seem to fit well.

Being my only revolver, when I bring people to the range, I bring that out after we go through .22, and 9mm. I load 2x .38 target loads, 2x .38 factory loads, and 2x 357 loads.

I have no real complaints about it. I may someday trade it for a 357 Single Action Super Blackhawk with scope rings... but not anytime soon. I'm actually toying with the idea or trying a couple club-level IPSC matches with this. Wouldn't be fast at all, but interesting to examine the stages from the disadvantage of 6 rounds.

Check out "Blue Line Solutions" They are the distributor and in addition to the guns have a selection of holsters, grips, etc etc for sale. I had occasion to use them for a repair and they were very good to deal with.

I'd post a link but they aren't a forum sponsor so let Goggle be your friend.

Great! Thanks for the info on the distributor! Found them and have looked up their accessories. Perfect!
