All-New: Type 81M

In the Forum Rules and FAQ, there is a section Manner and Etiquette in the Business Members Forums.
A few members should take the time to read this section.

Hey TI,

How likely is it that you would sell wooden full stock sets for the fixed version? I’d like to refinish the wood on my rifle, but I worry about screwing it up and having no replacement in that case.

Thanks

They must have kept a few back, they sent me a new fixed stock unit, which i thought had a front sight off to the side, turns out it was a simple adjustment

Lol so they sent you a replacement when the front sight just needed adjustments but my completely bent gun with the broken rear sights is just my problem and I have to wait a year for a replacement. Damn is that ever frustrating! Maybe they should just send me the on you had replaced haha

be careful what you ask for… the one he had replaced, had no mag catch.

It's something we are looking into for the next shipment :)

No , not the case, they sent me a replacement because my gun had no magazine catch

Anyone having troubles removing the retaining pin in the type 81M? First type 81 and after shooting half a spam can of corrosive ammo I forgot I didn’t really learn how to get the retaining pin out to clean the firing pin so it doesn’t rust. I’ve tried to use the tool provided by tactical imports and the damn tool broke in half ahah. Any tips? I know I’m hitting the pin on the correct side but it won’t budge at all.

You don't need to remove firing pin to clean after corrosive.. Just run your bolt under the tap of hot water.. salt be gone. water will evaporate off hot metal. Fav gun oil or g96 and you be done!!

I keep hearing this but what about dirt/oil build up within the firing pin that could later cause jamming? After corrosive since I cannot get the pin out I just place the bolt in boiling water and used a air compressor to remove remaining droplets, been just hopping this is enough

Mine arrived today, 1 month turn around. With emailing to add to the order. Not crazy fast, but not as bad as I feared.

Stock is a bit off when folded, but that appears to maybe be a bit of a thing, barrel appears straight with receiver, so thats awesome, I have not got right in there a measured it though.

The slant brake was rusty as heck, and there was no drum magazine in the box. I got an invoice for it though, but considering there isn't even a spot for one, I assume this will be pretty easy to rectify. There isn't much argument that it was in there to start with. Tracking number was the same in the email, but it was most likely sent separately. I have reached out.

***UPDATE - 1 hour after asking, they responded, 6:30+pacific time, drum is on the way, no room in the box. As I expected.***

All in all, I was worried, and so far its only a bit disappointing not getting my drum yet (because I'm an impatient child), but that's about it.

We'll eat dinner, clean it up, and reassess.
