And....I'm no longer a member of ISPC BC in good standing

"I got each the guys to come to my table where I presented them with the gift cards, pics were taken both by me and by their girlfriend and wife. I asked both of them if it was ok to put the pics on my Facebook page and was given permission by both to do so. I showed a few people the pictures after the fact and only had one negative response"

If they were new shooters then that was a bit of a #### move IMO. If being "DQ'ed" is something to be embarrassed about, the last thing i'd want is for someone to call me over to their table so that they can snap photo's and rub it in my face in front of everyone.

Neither was new shooters, both were/are friends of mine. Their girlfriend/wife and I has previously discussed the idea of the cards and both gave their approval and encouragement to hand them out, as documented in the scans of the letters that were sent back and forth. Both shooters assured me (and the Ontario shooter provided a letter stating such) that they appreciated the gesture and had no problem with it. I've received no evidence of who made the complaint, how, when or where the meeting to discuss it was held, nor minutes of the meeting. Just the documents you've seen posted here.

Being embarrassed would mean that, 'It happened to me and nobody else'. And DQ's are just things that happen to EVERYBODY.

Its kind of cliche but...

"There are two types of people in IPSC, those who have DQ'd and those who will be DQ'd"

If It happened to me, I would feel bad for being DQ'd in the first place, but I would take that giftcard, get a dipped cone, and sulk in the corner of the store ;)

Bizarre organization - also pretty immature and unprofessional. Interesting that I have met alot of IPSC folks during travels around Canada over the years and alot of them have had negative things to say about it ...... I read the above letters and they are basically stupid. (was compelled to say this)

I'm not sure it applies to this matter, but I would think any legal process taken without full, frank and fair disclosure of evidence against you is a textbook breach of your Charter rights. Just a thought. Sounds to me like someone's feet need to be put to the fire over this.

Charter Rights only apply to government agencies/institutions (i.e. schools, law enforcement, etc.)

WRONG. Charter rights are universal. He is entitled to due process unless he signed anything waiving that right.

/Sigh

This is why I don't post on here much.

I guess my textbooks, university instructors and eleven years in Law enforcement are all wrong.

I'm going to unsubscribe now, so I don't have to facepalm anymore.
