And it's not limited to Ruger by any means Smith & Wesson have been awful lately even in their higher end guns.

I think what screwed American gun manufacturing was all the panic buying after Comrade Obama got elected.

A lot of the big manufacturers realized they could make a $ off anything that vaguely resembled a rifle, and ramped up production and chucked quality control accordingly.

8 years of crappy guns and quality control. F@ck 'em. A number of smaller manufacturers (even in the US) stepped up to the plate and started building niches by making decent quality stuff. I'll buy those instead. Henry is a good example - they were almost unheard of 10 years ago, but they stepped up and ramped up production, but kept their quality control. Now they're giving a lot of the bigger manufacturers a run for their money, and good on 'em.
