Ok now that I got your attention I just have a little story and a big huge thank you to share.

One of our dealers- Nordic Marksman - had a nice little ad in the EE with a picture of a Anschutz 1827F in it and the words "in stock". Hit the link http://www.nordicmarksman.com/1827-Fortner.html and boom, I am now a proud owner of a 22lr Fortner action 1827F Sprint 22lr. Ha! Not so fast. The story is way more involved than that! Brad at Nordic Marksman started by telling me how many were in stock and with a request by me to look for a "stunning stock", he took each one out and had pictures from each angle showing the grain of each item in his shop. He packaged the stock photos and test targets and forwarded me the package with a choice few that stood out from the rest!

As soon as I seen the pictures of the Tiger Stripe Stock I knew that I had to have it! Up go all the other fine 22lr's to the EE and after setting down a deposit to hold the stock in question a deal was started. Again after reviewing the target pictures I was able to select a barreled action that showed real promise and had that matched to the tiger stripe stock. Brad again looked for riser pads to match but none fit the fancy grain of this item. Now how many dealer do you know that will pull out their complete stock and picture it from each angle and create a e-mail package with the pics/test targets and send it off in less than a days time? Then go through the complete selection again to try find matching parts!

Never mine the help with tool selection and other items of question and around 30+ e-mails later! I was one happy customer! Can't say enough on the service received from Brad at Nordic Marksman! Thank You! Also the extras included free of charge are great!

As I am no athlete so this rifle was just a way to get the Fortner action in a 22lr package. As I will be using it for more crazy style shooting up to and beyond 300yards a scope and high moa mount were included. (AI 1.52" 45 moa mount pictured but a lower AI 1.31" 28moa mount is coming soon) Extra items include the Bushnell 6x24x50 FFP BTR illum scope as well as the AFAR rail adaptors and Atlas V8.1 bipod. A March 3-24x52 would look great on this rifle! As it sits right now.... Just need some daylight pictures to show the wood properly!

So a big HUGE THANK YOU to Brad at Nordic Marksman for creating a dream package deal for me and now its time to get to the range and see how it will do! :D

Congrats on the new rifle, that stock is a work of art. If your going to be shooting it off a bipod why did you get the sprint over the heavy barrel?

Will be doing a lot more than that with this package ;) Back country travel/snowshoe/canoe trips etc is in as well.

And yes a straight pull action- the best one made. :D

holly momma! This is outstanding. It overshadows my lackluster laminated Bear stock. Now I know what you meant saying yours is "special". Brad is one superb guy that provides first rate customer service.

Fortner. A mere $3500! Lock up is by a ball bearing ring. Don't mess with the bolt.

Wow, very nice looking stock! I too just picked up one of these from Brad and concur, Nordic Marksman is great to deal with. Although I'm using the 6827 rear sight, I like the look of the scope. Where did you get the scope base from?

Guys, enjoy your rifles, they are tons of fun! The straight pull action is actually very simple and I encourage you to take it apart.
Don't be hesitant, everything just slips together oh so well.

Thomas at Peter Fortner's shop can reassemble in 23 seconds flat.
I guess that the time to beat!

OMG.

Pure perfection. I love that you are going to use it like a Swiss Army knife and not a range queen. Enjoy it and we all expect a full range report.

Do share pics when you get yours.
Here's mine also from Brad. Looks like Brad is leaving a trail of happy customers. I sure am :)

It is an Accuracy International Dovetail mount for the AI rifles. Can get a 45moa or 28moa or 18moa base for the dovetail rail. High quality and very sweet to have bit of moa slope as well. Pictured is the tallest 45moa one. Will be putting the shorter 28moa mount on when it arrives :D Wolverine Supply stocks these mounts.

This will be getting the full use as it should. It's designed to bump around out on the trail in the cold winter air. Should be a sweet shooter too, just need some better ammo. All I have is FGMM and CCI Green Tag right now, need some Center X and better:D

I am awaiting some RWS R50 but when I shot the FGMM I had at 25m, it went into one ragged hole when I proned out. I too think I have an Annie addiction. I am awaiting arrival of a 1417 from a fellow CGNer and am trying to decide on a scope for that.

Thanks for the info on the mount. It will be either the AI or one from BKL Tech for the 1417.

Everyone should have at least one Anschutz. I just purchased a new 1712, to replace the 1907R that I sold last year. I still have my 1730 in 22Hornet as well.

Seems like a strange stock design for the intended uses. How does it shoulder freehand? I commend you for taking that beautiful wood on a canoe trip. I don't think I'd have the nards to do it. Very nice rifle.
