Antelope by the dozens...

humans are slightly easier to deal with as we follow signs and are smart enough to not try to outrun a train. (well most of us are).
Deer get hit by vehicles on the highways all the time, so are you going to stop driving?

They certainly could do something, but it all comes at a cost and just wait for the complaining when costs of stuff go up because they somehow put animal control on thousands of miles of rail track. Its just not practical.

The train didn’t just hit a deer. It hit over a hundred antelope so far this year. Likely all within a 50 mile stretch of track.

The first time ever I seen a photo local fatality railway scene was during my years in Moose Jaw. Some poor homeless guy cut in half by a train. That had to have been leaked by thier own private police force.
Not very professional by any standard.

Some nice jokester pinned it up in the neighbourhood grocery buy and sell cork board.

I wonder how long they take for coffee and lunch breaks..... lol

Myself I would like to know the stats of thier own "police involved shootings." There's probably many good reasons take away that lethal firearm & give them a taser or Kimber pepper ball gun instead.
Any other private corporation must provide our outsource thier physical security to a security company and certainly are not given the extreme privledge form thier very own private police force.

When it’s mostly preventable in the case of antelope and occurs repeatedly, I lose my ####. I’m glad it was filmed, as hard as it is to watch, but it may help.

I thought they were stupid to film it but you're right, might be best to see this to get some changes. Level crossings would be start, migration routes are pretty easy to figure out..ask the local ranchers. I doubt CP cares about anything other then pure profit, they would have to be forced into change either but really really bad PR /public outcry or by Govt forcing them.
