Orion, NWMP carbine in 45-75?

Yes it is.
It has a broken lever loop as you can see in the picture. Also the saddle ring is missing and the wood has lots of dings but otherwise it's in pretty good condition. The bore is nice and bright and I can't see any pitting. What's left of the bluing has turned brown and it eeds a good cleaning.

I sent the serial # to the Cody Museum in Wyoming to see if they had a history of it. A friend on an American forum suggested I try them.

Here is a selection of Stevens rifles to go along with the thread on rimfire cartridges. First one is a tip up and was made in both rifle and pistol configuratiion. Next is a model 44 which was sold under a large variety of model names based on small differences in sights, stocks and barrel configuratioin. Below that is a smaller version known as the favourite then a smaller and cheaper version of the favourite known as a crackshot and finally a rolling block type called the little scout.

cheers mooncoon
