Like mine too - got a Frontier (16 1/2" barrel) and more recently a regular stainless Hawkeye too (22" barrels). Maybe I'll get out moose hunting with one in a few weeks - not sure.Mine is a Ruger M77
in a "how stupid can i possibly be?" moment i sold an m70 featherweight in .358. That ranks right up there with the m70 featherweight in 6.5x55 i sold, revealing my occasional complete lack of rational thought.
I just keep all the guns i buy nowadays. Don't wanna look like an idiot anymore!
Also, 1000th post. Yay me.
Hornady has sent a shipment of 358 Win to Canada recently,
I believe they are 200 gr loadings.Qther than that I think Win 200gr
silvertips are the only other and they only make a batch every few years.
This is basically a reloaders cartridge for now.
I like to use 250 gr bullets to take advantage of the 35 caliber.
Moose dont like these at all!
There are few factory ammo options...
Not a huge selection of bullets either for the reloader.
That's the reason why my build will be .338 Federal. Even if the factory ammo dies off I can resize .308 brass and there is a large assortment of .338 bullets to choose from.
The old "huge selection of bullets" arguement gets old after a while. There's plenty of bullets out there for a 35cal shooter and most guys would only shoot one or two bullets in a rifle like a 338 or 358 anyways. Not a huge selection of bullets either for the reloader.
