Any interest in cheap .303?

If he makes bullets, he'll probably do better selling those to us reloaders. But for the sake of those who don't, I hope this scheme works.

As a previous post noted, any new ammunition must be approved by NRCAN before it can be legally sold in Canada. This is an expensive and time consuming process. It is a major reason why there is a derth of surplus ammo available in Canada. Most potential importers do the math and realize that it simply isn't cost effective to go forward with the importation.

A more likely option would be to import reasonably priced plated or FMJ .303 projectiles for handloading, along with boxer primed brass.

I'm an acquaintance of an ammo maker in the states and started talking with him about our 303 situation and he offered to do a couple runs of it for us if there is enough interest. He told me he can likely make it for around 50 cents a round for reloadable match grade ammo, but he'd need a minimum order of approximately 4000 rounds. Any interest?

I would be down for 500 for sure.

Count me in! I miss the enfield platform. The only thing that stops me from buying one is ammo price. I'd buy cheap surplus and some match grade for sure!

How is this even a question???????

THIS!!!!!! Really, how is this even a question!!!???

What rock did you guys just crawl out from under?!! Match grade ammo for .75-1.00/round would not last on the shelves even in 10's of thousands of rounds brought into the country in each shipment! Throw some nice soft points on a whole smack load of them and watch them also dissappear into basements all over Canada in the blink of an eye! Have you seen the prices we are stuck with up here at the moment?!!

I would definately stack deep if/when this happens!!

Ian

If the price stays decent after all importing/etc. I know with the shooting I do I have ZERO need for match-grade ammo so that's not a requirement for me, especially if it drops the price even further

There is no equivalency recognized between testing in 1st world countries?
