Sort of on topic...

What is on the top of the scope between the rear ring, and upper turret housing?

Some sort of level?

I guess the Remington 600 series really was ahead of its time :)

This is a nice offering though. Really like the Accu-trigger so the Savage version would be my choice, with backup sights of course. 16 1/2" barrel could be interesting.

Have been eyeing the Ruger compact lam./SS in .308 but its a bit more money.
This is a good idea CanAm.
Anyone know what scope that is in the pic above post #181 ?

Realistically if a guy wanted one with an 18" barrel he could buy a regular stevens and get a gunsmith to cut the barrel at 18" as long as overall length was still legit right? If so I might even have to go that rote because the wait is already killing me and it has only been what a week?

- Savage with Accu-trigger
- .308
- synthetic stock with shorter LOP and trimmed to appropriate size forend, Limbsaver R3 recoil pad
- stainless steel
- 16.5" barrel
- XS ghost ring with tritium front sight for backup (or similar)
- non-detachable mag
- drilled and tapped for rail (regular, not scout)

Doubt this would be cost effective but best combination imo.

Whatever sight setup you want is fine, as long as it's drilled and tapped for a scope mount.

Any chance of these being produced and shipped before hunting season?

Well since this string started I've bought a Sako A7 pre-ordered a norinco M4, and tentatively sold my savage American Classic 30-06... let's get moving...
