Anybody suggest a decent Revolver?

If nobody minds me asking, what are the differences between the 586 and 686?

neither is as good as a pinned model 27 :wink:

on a pre 1980 revolver there is a pin on the top strap where the barrel was pinned to the top strap.

Any smith without that pin isn't worth owning. IMHO> :twisted:


That pin loss was the mark of the loss of quality in S&W production. Right after that the fit and finish started to suck.....right around the time the 586/686 appeared. I have over 40 S&W's ALL have the pin.


The "L" frame is a gee lets make a gun the size of the Colt Python......

I like N frame revolvers. Take a look at a 5" model 629. 8)
