If by 'materials', you mean DPMS lpk's, they do not even come close to the very best US made products.
I keep hearing this, but where is the objective proof?
DPMS makes almost none of their LPK parts themselves from what I have read. They buy their parts from other AR parts manufacturers - usually small jobber machine shops that have been contracted for parts runs by government agencies.
I've bought several of their LPK's over the years and it's obvious they parts are from different manufacturers just from kit to kit, but I've never had a low quality part come from them.
That being said, I usually replace the trigger, hammer and safety in their kits because: a) I like ambi safeties b) I like 2-stage trigger/hammer assemblies.
Still waiting for someone to explain how they are inferior. It's not like Colt MPI's their triggers or makes them out of gold or anything. All critical AR LPK parts are made of medium grade steel, hardened, and either blued or parked. Minimal machining with a lot of as-cast surfaces.
