For me, its Red all the way now.
There are alot of options and accessories now for the VZ58 and more popping up each day.
Soon the gap in Ergos and options will be narrower as right now its pretty huge.
I will post pics of my new VZ58 once I have received the rails, bipod/foregrip, and flash hider. It wont be an AR but it will be pretty damn functional.
I run a VZ in 5.56 with a few goodies (rails, flash hider, ACE stock, etc). I went from an AR to the VZ, and now I'm building another AR. Range only use is annoying, but AR's are just excellent guns. Since it is restricted anyways I'm building an 11.5". Very maneuverable, excellent ergonomics, and simple for mounting optics. I may go down the road of the receiver cover scope rail for the VZ, but I just wish it had a full length upper rail. Also, I wish it was designed for AR mags from the factory. I have a gen 1 adapter, and I'm on my second unit now (broke the first one - have been pretty easy on it since). I really should run it with factory mags, but they seem to be hard to find (and I have a stash of AR mags).
The two things that attracted me to the VZ were the lowish cost of entry and the fact that it is non restricted. I have about 1500 rounds through it, and I'm on the fence with it. After my house is built I'll probably go the Tavor or FS2000 route. That way I get something shorter for getting in and out of the truck while I'm out looking for coyotes and groundhogs. It really is too bad that there isn't much for rifles between the VZ and XCR for pricing (in terms of non restricted).
