you have always to start somewhere and a fine even minimalist is a fine ...
I agree.. a regular guy that made a mistake ..The shame is worse then the fine.
If they are hard core pukes,, then the CO's will get intel then send in the undercover boyz

fair enough, you have a fair point, was not looking to spar with anyone when i posted this thread and was more hoping it would lead to a discussion provoking more understanding of the mule deer regs here that as other BC members have suggested, are being misunderstood by hunters, game cutters, sporting good stores selling tags and now apparently CO's as well.
peace.
I've had positive interaction with CO's at the range and I've had Greg Hoyer phone and thank me after a Report a Poacher call I made.
The ride along civilians with the CO's that are going through your stuff behind your back while you're talking to the CO gets me wound up.
And no not plainclothes CO's
Renta cops....auxiliarys. Along, because the CO has authority with the wildlife act, but not for criminal code. Drunk driving, open alcohol, until Wed ....marijuana.....etc.

? CO's in Ontario are Peace officers and have all the same authorities as a LEO.

CO's are also peace officers in BC if i remember correctly but need to call rcmp for anything under the motor vehicle act , which i know from experience.
That's probably more of a case they don't know the highway traffic Act. I'm sure if they had the act with them and we're more knowledgeable they could have laid charges.

you guys are hilarious.
you can tell by my post that i was needlessly hostile, aggressive and rude?
get a life.
That’s also how I read it. It’s possible to respond to someone who is in error in a calm demeanour and to educate them in a fashion that won’t wind up escalating hostilities, it’s called people skills. Many of us who actually have people skills don’t suffer fools either, I’ve seen a few such people posting in this thread.
I disagree but I was there so ....
I pulled in, backed up to the cooler. Butcher, who i've know for many years and is a straight shooter himself, met me with his usual big smile.
Went inside the office, paid my bill while the butcher himself brought out my meat boxes and loaded my vehicle.
happy times so far....
I did not see the CO when i went in, he was in the walk in inspecting hanging animals.
As I opened the door of my vehicle to hop in, my business concluded......The guy comes running at me waving a piece of paper yelling at me to stop.
He is full of aggression, face colored and acting as if I am guilty of something, demanding my meat boxes be unloaded.
I first asked ..... surprised and confused.... "what did I do?" I follow all the rules to the letter, ask the butcher.
He doesn't de-escalate.... he gets right in my face pointing at his paper saying I killed 2 mule deer and was in violation.
and I went off..... with a heated response that he was dead wrong, my tags and the sheet in his hand clearly identify region 2 and region 5.... fully legal.
I further retorted.... how can you be a CO if you don't even know the regulations?
I then said angrily..... you guys know where I live, your boss knows who I am, I'm going home to get my legally killed meat to my freezer.
and I got in my vehicle and drove away.
whole story.... there ya go.
if you have a problem with it.... get stuffed?
any one of you would have done the same..... if not you either have zero testicular fortitude.... or you just argue to try and win the internet LOL
