Armalite AR180B Frequently Asked Questions, revised Dec. 26/07

one for sale here for 2900$...lol... extreme-precision.forum-2007.com/t61680-armalite-ar180b

That guy must be smoking crack to ask that much. :onCrack:
From what I've seen, installing the stock adapter usually lowers the value. As much as I like the idea of changing the stock I don't think I could ever chop mine up to do it.
I like how he calls it a rare collectors piece but it isn't even in original condition.

I have one brand new in box , never fired and still has the tie wrap around trigger, with all the original documents , box and scope mounts . Am wondering how much it is worth on the market ... 201### serial , imported years ago from a small Gun shop in NC (got the papers of that as well )

Too bad this thread is never used anymore ...

I would think around $1800 would be reasonable but based on what we've been seeing people ask lately I'd put it up for a little over $2000 and see what happens, you can always lower your price if it doesn't sell.

I recently sold one that was new ,never fired with Midwest quadrail and top optics rail ,add on adjustable stock ,rail covers ,extra mags and one LAR 10 rounder mag plus all paperwork and original furniture. Not sure if you folks know how much the Midwest Eng quad rail is worth ($300 ish ,but no longer made)

I`ll tell you ,I sold it for a lot less than $2000 and less than $1800.

No matter what guys say or think ,it is a great rifle ,shoots well and never jams, and as far as the lower pin breaking from the attachment point ,that`s just being ham fisted and clumsy.

Yes I have another that I shoot ,and it`s great when I want to leave my other restricted ARs at home and head to the pits and have fun.

As a new ,stock unit ,the $ 15-1800 range would be a good starting point.

Good luck

Finally, a reasonable guy :)
I paid $1400 for mine new (last batch imported as far as I know). Sold it to a buddy a few years ago for $1600 with a bunch of mags, a couple scopes, some ammo. Bought it back a while ago for $1200 but let him keep all the mags and scopes.
These are great rifles but they are not rare and are not worth over $2000. If someone is willing to pay that much they would be better off with an XCR-L, or a used ACR that they could save up and convert to non restricted. I only suggest asking a little over $2000 since everyone else is asking an arm and a leg for them and if you're selling one you may as well capitalize on others stupidity and get as much as you can for it. If it doesn't sell drop $100 off the price every couple weeks till someone snatches it up.

Well that`s a good starting point ,why not ask $2000, who knows, you might get it ,but like you say ,after awhile start knocking a hundred bucks from the price until somebody says I`ll take it ,or offers you an OBO price.

As we all know ,if somebody wants it ,they will pay.

Crack and meth blend for sure. The stock adapter I got put on mine(Wolverine Supply) made it an easy transition back to the stock furniture.

I think I paid around $1100 for the rifles plus taxes.Of course the rails ,stock, stock adapter and taxes boosted the price up quite a piece.Of course we all know it`s foolish to think you will recoup the costs.

Thank you for your feedback , much appreciated .

I might just keep it and shoot from time to time , I have kept it for so many years (am a collector) and as the owner of over 10 Ar's in a miriad of calibers , a few other NR rifles (tavor, ACR,) I figure I might hold on to it and enjoy it . I am not selling because I need to , I am selling it because it is sad it has never been shot and might deserve a better home (Saw the military channel video hehe). I kept it for all this time because when I bought it , I thought the Libs were banning all the black rifles and that one was available way before the AR craze , if this makes sense lol

Would love to find the midwest rail but might end up making an adaptor and using a CASV or simething similar if I convert it to a shooter , will also install ACE stock ... thus ruining the collector value of rifle but at least enjoying it . Am still on the fence about doing that or simply leaving it stock and shooting a few rounds here and there .

Am surprised that lower & upper handguard does not havec heat shield ...

If I were you ,I would keep it.It`s nice to go out into the woods etc. with a nice non-restricted AR type black rifle and blast away and have fun.Wish I could do that with my restricted ARs and handguns !!!!

Cheers

Unless by midwest rail you mean the quadrail in which case I wouldn't bother, makes the rifle heavier. I'd like to figure out a way to mount a nice smooth forend with just a top rail and maybe some m-lok along the bottom and sides. I don't want to modify the rifle though so that might be difficult.

I would like to let you all know that we are now registered with State.

I have spoke with the guys at I Run Guns, and they said they can handle the transfers.

So if there are any NDS-18S questions I can answer let me know.

Mike congratulations!

We appreciate this.

Now please tell us that the NDS lower will not be a limited run.

The first batch of 100 is down to less than 15 left.

However, we currently have another batch of 100 on the CNC right now. We can make them whenever we need to, all I have to do is order some billet.

These are a lot easier for me to process than the retro forgings because they don't have to be polished to get the anodizing to turn out right.

ordered mine already , look forward to receiving it . I look at the APC 223 and yes the quality is better and accuracy will be superior , but it also cost more then 3 times what I paid for my ar 180B's ( own 2 )

The plastic receiver and squarish upper is very reminiscent of the 30 year old Stoner design ... I am very happy and always have been with my Ar180B , its proven reliable and light , with a decent scope its accurate enough for my needs . It is still one of my favourite and liked rifle to shoot .That being said I do shoot more then 12 000 rounds a year (for the past 20 years ) on my various platforms ( AR's , Tavor , Kriss , Sig's and HK) I do look forward to receiving my ACR DMR , was on order at Wolverine for more then 2 years . as I like new rifles , I am an avid collector . For the record the Armalite 180B is still one of my favourite rifle and a joy to shoot , soft and accurate enough for a fun plinking afternoon , it never fails and takes any ammo or mags I feed it .

In the end the Ar 180B was a ground breaking design back then with awesome ergonomics , weak point was receiver (back then was over 15 years ago) and the new NoDak NS18 receiver will resolve that point, I am also considering re-barreling one of my 180B ( My second one is unfired) with a new barrel when and if the accuracy starts dropping , no need for now though .

My apologies Mike :) I have to say I have been extremely excited to be able to acquire your product though Irunguns ...Your company should be commended for running a new batch of lower receivers for us poor neglected Canadians !

Now if your company really wants to make a lower and an upper , you guys could be on to something $$$$

Thanks again !
