Based on this thread:

started by CGN member Gatvolboerseun, I decided to buy the ATA Etro Non-Restricted 12 Ga Shotgun. I ordered it from Bullseye Sports on Nov 14, it just arrived today (Nov 25). I could not find a lot of info on the ATA shotguns, so I thought I would add my comments here, in case anyone else is interested in this shotgun.
It came in a plastic sleeve inside a cardboard box with some styrofoam nuggets and included an owners manual, stickers, FRT printout, invoice and a really ugly orange and camo hat (I forgot to take a picture of the hat).
Although the shotgun appeared to be wrapped fairly well there was some wear on the bottom of the pistol grip:
and there was some wear on the barrel in 3 places (actually I now think it is white paint on the barrel):
The front sight has a white paint run on the side, and I suspect this is the source of the white paint smudges on the barrel:
Here is the shotgun field stripped:
It is somewhat similar to the Remington 870, and the controls are all in the same place which is a big bonus for me since I already own 2 870 shotguns. Some nice features are the ball detent magazine cap retention (similar to my Wingmaster and 870P), very smooth action and trigger, red anodized hi viz follower and a nicely designed, slotted, loading gate. One thing I noticed immediately is the weight difference compared to an 870; having an aluminum receiver and magazine cap certainly cuts down on the weight. I weighed this one and it is 2.3kg. I have tried cycling a couple of snap caps and everything works perfectly and the rounds are ejected 5-6 ft across the room. I had hoped that the rail on the forend would be removable, but it is moulded in and it appears to be a bit out of spec because I had a heck of a time mounting my Inforce flashlight on the rail.
Hopefully I will get a chance to shoot it this weekend. Given the light weight and lack of a stock, this could be "interesting".
