Got mine by canpar this morning. I gotta say, you get a lot of grease and not much quality control from the factory. Dings. Scratches.
But I love it! A bargain at... well, certainly not twice the price.
But a bargain nonetheless.

Its so ugly that you gotta just love it...
Ive dremelled almost every surface on it
The hammer had a horrible bur and I has to
smooth the chamber markings and reblued.
My main use is a camp gun with the different
Barrel adapters, fun for all ages.

Mine arrived today ----- Random thoughts & pics

I received a shipping confirmation yesterday, and it was sitting on my doorstep when I arrived home today.

It arrived covered in large amounts of light oil, which was easy to wipe off. For a new shotgun, it is in terrible shape, several of the pins that hold it together project out passed the receiver and are worn down to bare metal, there are several small scratches and discoloured areas on the metal. The wood is covered in a solid stain that makes it look like plastic, except for the area where there is no stain on one side of the pistol grip.
The barrel has been engraved (12 Gauge 3") after the barrel was blued, so the lettering is bare metal, and has sharp edges. None of this really bothers me, as I knew what to expect.

I was not expecting the barrel to have such a thin wall (slightly worrisome) or for the hinge to be so loose and sloppy when the action is open.

I like how easy it is to disassemble/reassemble and how compact it is. I like that it has an extractor rather than an ejector, so that I won't have to try and catch my adapters in mid air. It fit in my small Maxpedition Gearslinger with ease and lived up to its name:

It is approx. 29" over all, I find the lop of the stock a little long, so I think I will trim it 1-2" and install a new recoil pad.

If you are looking for a very compact, ease to disassemble "beater" shotgun, this is it.

They are definitely project guns Tom E. De tune the sharp edges, alter the stock as you see fit put a taller front sight on there and then maybe a paint job to protect it from the elements.....

I'm surprised your barrel is thin my older one seems pretty meaty..... I finally upgraded my front sight and it's hitting bang on with .22lr out of an adapter at short range!

It's the base of a pop rivet crimped on with some pliers..... :)

 
Here is mine. I don't have a micrometer, or any other way to accurately measure the barrel thickness, but as you can see in this pic, it is barely thicker than a paper clip:

also notice how rough the end of the barrel is.
 
God that wood stain is brutal!
Yours is not even thickness but parts look as thick as mine... try dressing it with a file and see what it looks like?
It's funny that they bothered to checker these guns as it looks like the overall quality dropped a notch and they still didn't raise the front sight!
Looks like your front sight has some protrusion into the bore as well.

I think a bit of file work will help....the edge might be peened a bit?
I think paint is a good call! The foreend on these guns could use a little shortening in my opinion.
A lot of the first batch had an issue with the foreend latch letting go under recoil, mine did but a small piece of self adhesive foam weather stripping laid in the barrel groove solved that issue.

To be honest I can't remember exactly what mine looked like but I remember it was sharp so I did a bit of file work to smooth it up.

Mine measures out at 2.1mm at the thinnest spot and about 2.3mm at the fattest.

Eyeballing with a tape measure it's a hair over 1/16"
 
As close as I can tell, with a tape measure, I would say mine is about 1.6-1.7 mm (just a thin hair over 1/16"). I sure won't be threading it for chokes, thats for sure.

Was the price the same for the left overs as the initial batch?
You guys might want to inspect the guns and cull out the worst for clearance pricing or just spare parts!

It seems like a bit of a lottery.
 
Dont have mine yet, they are sure ugly but will surely fit perfect for an emergency shotgun at our La Tuque cabin... JP.
