Bad Experience with Wolverine Supplies

I don't agree with the way this customer has posted this but I could see this as a last resort cause he couldn't get through to anyone over phone. I have had similar dealings with wolverine... I have not bought anything from wolverine yet due to two bad customer service incidents. First i went to buy a cheaper rifle and i had a couple questions about it. So I contacted them and they told me they didn't have the time to answer me due to the price of the rifle. Second i went to buy a J allen stock from them and they couldn't even send me the their orderlist forum due to someone being on holidays and had to wait 2 weeks for just a simple order forum.

So I can totaly understand why he took this to the forum. But I think he should of just took his business to another dealer as I did. I see it as if your not happy with their service go somewhere else!

I think it's important that people share their experiences with others regarding retailers. Even if a retailer has good customer service 98% of the time, that other 2% offers a chance to improve. While I think that the OP probably should have waited to see the entire issue through to resolution (good or bad), his point is valid. If I receive a quote from a company, I expect it to be honored within a reasonable amount of time. One or two days is certainly a reasonable amount of time. I think an attitude of "well that's just the way it is" perpetuates the problem. Although, while working in sales for a couple years, it's attitudes like that that paid for a lot of nice stuff in my gun safe.

.... they told me they didn't have the time to answer me due to the price of the rifle.

Whatever...Troll.

I made the mistake a complaining about a purchase on CGN before contacting the vendor.
After actually talking to said vendor.....
I felt like a childish brat whining about his toy....I even apologized on this forum too.

John and his family run a solid business. Of course not all resolutions to a problem might be acceptable to the customer....
(..maybe the online ordering could be faster...)

Tip for you. If a store quotes a price to good to be true....pay for it in full. :)

There is actually a section in the consumer protection act that does not allow a business to charge more than 5% higher than any written estimate of price. In this case the OP was totally within his legal rights to demand that the price be honored as it was in writing as i understood it. That being said....

I had a similar situation and agree with your post fully....if it sounds like a smoking deal buy it right then and there....or put a deposit down and get the purchase price in writing!

I find this VERY hard to believe. I've contact them several times with questions about many different products, spoke to several different sales people as well as John himself at one time or another, and have always gotten full and detailed answers to my questions. I seriously doubt someone refused to answer your question regardless of "the price of the rifle".

I'm not trolling... I still have the damn email from them. Not going to lie but it really pissed me off when I recieved it.

John probably runs a solid business, but this is just what I experienced dealing with one of their employees.

If you ever wonder why you cannot get through on the phone to your favorite gun shop to buy something, it is because of these people who never buy anything but tie up the lines price matching and "shopping around". Then they complain about service when they dont spend a dime.

I cannot imagine ranting about a 17% price difference on a backpack. OMFG

Actually glad the OP posted this and who cares about his post count anyways. He spoke to a live person about the situation and unfortunately the response he got sucked. I would have been pissed and maybe I would have posted my bad experience as well since I do post kudos on good experiences.

Now because of this thread, I now know who to contact at Wolverine if I have any issues with future purchases.

I have bought several items from Wolverine and I am happy with my experience so far and will continue to purchase from them.

The customer is NOT always right, if he just would have contacted managment this all could have most likely been cleared up. Instead he came online and cried like a baby, now he has to take it like a man. However, something tells me you won't see him around much from this point forward. My limited experience with Wolverine has always been pleasent, and I will continue to do buisness with them. To the OP, next time there is mix up or mistake made with an online "PRICE SHOPPING" order, clarify it with the one who makes the decisions, if it doesn't go your way then jsut don't do buisness with them. Put your soapbox and megaphone away!!

still find it amusing that a mistaken quote is considered by many, bad customer service...what in the ####?

this is what i got from the OP:

"i want purchase X in X color, can you get it?"

"yeah, it will be $X"

"cool, can i buy 2?"

"oh, sorry, i gave you the wrong price it's actually $X"

"well i don't want it anymore"

how is that bad customer service? not replying to messages, or not attempting to retrieve the requested product in the requested color from the wholesaler/manufacturer and not checking availability would be bad customer service, they served the customer by doing the research, got an answer, gave the wrong price at first, made the correction, OP decided not to buy, sounds like perfect customer service to me...come on people...

Due to factors outside of our control such as changes in International currency’s, fuel surcharges etc we reserve the right to adjust prices at any time. The only time we are bound to honour previously quoted prices is when we have accepted a deposit for the item in question.

Taken straight from the sticky on wolverines main page. I admit I'd be a bit upset if the price of a quoted item changed but I understand things happen beyond their control

The forums seem to have become a site for "bashing" the vendors, not to mention the site supporters who pay to help keep this site up and running.
There is no way, that any supplier on here is going to keep 100% of the people happy 100% of the time, It is completely impossible, That does not mean when you don't get your way or feel you have been wronged that you immediately take to this site and start bashing without at least trying to pursue a mutual resolution first...
I have had issues with dozens of companies over the years outside of the firearm community, that doesn't mean I go to the internet and start some BS thread because I didn't get what I was told, wanted or felt I deserved !!!

LOL @ this thread. I do see where the OP is coming from.

I ordered from Wolverine Supplies upon recommendation from a friend. Ordered a shotgun. The employee told me it would take 8 weeks to arrive....no problem. The employee ordered the wrong gauge of shotgun. After a few emails back and forth, things seem to be back on track....but they weren't. Something happened to my order and I was told I would have to wait another few more weeks. No problem....I wasn't in a rush. 2 weeks go by and the employee calls me a tells me the shotgun arrived early and will be shipping out ASAP.

The shotgun arrives and they shipped me a totally wrong shotgun! LOL......Kinda laughed when it arrived, because the gun they shipped me was more expensive then the one I originally ordered! I probably should have just kept it and said nothing, but I returned the gun. I never did get the original gun I ordered.....but I did get a full re-fund, no questions asked! The lady I dealt with was extremely nice.............it just seems there ordering desk and warehouse are a bunch of Monkeys!
Haha what did you end up getting instead

I just had a bad experience with Wolvering Supplies.

I have been looking around for a new hunting back pack. I decided to buy the Eberlestock Gunrunner. So I started to dearch around for dealers and prices.

Wolverrine ended up having it for the best price I could find. So before placing my order I called them to discuss the availability of other colours because they only had coyote brown on their website.

So while speaking to them they had told me there were a couple of different prices depending on the availability of the other colours. They were going to call the manufacturer to verify the price and stock.

They then sent me a email with the availability of the different colours plus the price that would be the same as they already had listed on their website. In the meantime |I was telling my cousin about it and he wanted me to order him one too.

So I ordered 2 backpacks immediately after receiving the email from Wolverine Supplies.

The today I get a email with a quote with the backpacks at a higher price. So I called them to ask what was happening.

All they said id the manufacturer changed the price on them. This I do not belive. They had just called to verify everything.

Now they want me to pay a higher price than originally quoted. I asked them to stand by their original quote because they had just told me the price and they wouldnt.

In my opinion this is very poor customer service and a really bad way of doing buisness. If it was the manufacturer who had just quoted it to them I am sure they would of stood by what they said. The same should go for Wolverine.

I also just checked their website and now they have changed to price of the back pack online.

Brutal business and horrible customer service. Hopefully they don't do this to too many people.......

That wouldn't be the first time a supplier did that....

Yesterday, I was wondering about a preorder I placed with Wolverine. I called them on the phone, and got my answer in 10 seconds. So far so good for me. They stock some awesome gear too.

I've had nothing but great experiences with them so far, but I understand that $hit happens at times, its all in how it is handled after the fact.

This right here^

IO have no idea why people would order stuff like backpacks from a canadian firearm dealer. Making that choice by itself is basically just wanting to help out the canadian firearm industry, not to save money, backpacks can be ordered from the states and china. I would try to find them out of country first. We get raped here in prices for everything, wanted to support my local golf shop, they charged 300 dollars more than the online wholesaler..... i tried the clubs out at the shop and bought them online.

Another name for the "customer service" person is the "supplier". What goes down in any transaction can be "all over the map".

The supplier is helping me get the things I want. I make a point be polite etc. If mistakes get made I don't expect anyone to eat a loss. Over time you can compare services between suppliers. You can choose to avoid certain ones. If something really bad happens you can talk to the boss. I personally would not want to criticize anyone's business in public.
