Which bullpup?!

The safety sucks and I cant see a solution to that. Pluses for the T87 other than the price I would include that it has a true trigger guard and a better trigger than the Tavor. Moe

I don't see the safety or mag release being a huge deal, but the trigger is, IMO.

Easy...Tavor. The T97 (while economically priced) doesn't hold a candle to the Tavor...easy choice if you have the scratch.

I'd bet (a small amount) that the T97 would shoot more rounds under adverse conditions with out failing to function. The whole gas/operating system looks well thought out to me.

Which one is that? I haven't noticed this with the T97.

Early Tavors seem to be the main culprit, of which mine is one.

Google "Tavor Eye" for more info on the problem.

A $3,000.00 rifle should not s*it hot gas onto it's users eyes from below the safety glasses. Unacceptable flaw that never should have been.

Glad to hear that most new ones don't have the problem, but the fact that it existed at all makes me leery of the firearm.

A type 97 with t97.ca parts would be very comparable to a tavor but not as much money. Problem with t97.ca is the parts require minor gunsmithing you can do at home. Get both and cry alongside your credit card.

Love my t97, handled but never fired the tavor but it did feel a little light and loose with all those plastic parts. As for norinco quality my t97 shoots like a dream, easy to take down and don't see any wear and tear on any of the movig parts. Also own a norc 1911 and it's good enough that I don't need a colt 1911 or anything in that price range. So until I shoot a tavor my vote goes to type 97.

Owned both. Tavor is the superior gun but after installing T97.ca upgrades the T97 becames a VERY nice gun to handle and is extremely useable... and still cost more than $1000 less than the Tavor. Im not saying even a fully outfitted T97 is BETTER than a stock Tavor, but for $1000 difference its pretty hard to justify. Thats ALOT of ammo...

With the trigger upgrades that now exist I would pick the Tavor... if it were not for the gasses launched into the eye risk. Sorry guys, my eyes are a bit important to me.
