Mainly because I don't apply for the real popular areas. One advantage of living where I do means I can select areas I know well but the average out-of-zone hunters knows little about.

I applied for Bison, Moose, Elk, and Goat. I tried to choose the regions and dates with highest odds of winning in locations I would be willing to go. Worked out okay - won Moose and Goat. New hunter too so that probably helped. Now to do some recon before heading out this fall. Wish I lived more in Central BC though.

Thanks Boo! Yep, Polish dudes it is. Some days I wish I was living way out there like you are...there's nothing like local knowledge! As always, we anticipate being short-handed at work this year, so I doubt if I can make it out your way. I've come to the realization that one needs to go at least a solid week to go someplace like yours. I really hope to see and connect a moose! I've never even seen one before, aside from the very tasty meat you gave us that is....mmmmm, yummmy ;-)

Everything but Grizzly and Bison. Every other species has a general open season somewhere in the province each year.

The LEH tags aren't required to hunt but rather they are a little "bonus" that can save some travel time.

I take great comfort in the fact that I can still hunt the general open season 'cause I got no LEH moose draw again this year.

Any time Mark. You do know that if you get a moose on the ground those linebacker-sized friends of yours will come in very handy. Between the two of them they should be able to get all 4 quarters back to camp in one trip. LoL

I just got back to Vancouver from school out of country. I missed the draws. Can I still go hunting? I mean can I go buy a tag for an animal that's not LEH? And have at it?
