Everybody raves about the warranty service from BCL...but of course, everybody seems to need it too. I don't want to buy something that I can easily get service and parts for if I keep needing to do so. I want something that works properly from the get-go.
I've had 8 or 9 Americans in assorted chamberings and configurations, just sold a couple recently, will probably own more in future. A couple of them, purchased new several years ago, required some breaking-in to run smoothly, although they never failed to feed and function properly. Others were smooth right out of the box, especially the more recent-production ones. None of them required any warranty work or parts. I've swapped out stocks and chassis, changed the magwell assembly on several, and changed a couple of barrels. Accuracy has been consistently good, sometimes much better than merely good.
Will I need to wait for parts or service? I dunno, maybe; I won't know until I need parts or service, and so far I haven't.
I really wanted to like the Bison when it came out, but when I handled one in Cabela's I couldn't get past what a heavy, sharp-cornered square-off little piglet it was. Its bolt was at least as rough as the worst American I've ever cycled. I had gone into the store to buy the gun; I left empty-handed and don't regret the decision.
