Better question how long till AR's are prohib? Fricken Orlando! What would they do give us all a 12.6?
Do you remember the 858/Swiss Arms saga ? No compensation, no grandfathering... That would be my bet if they went this way

When did that happen? Do you have the means to post it?
They was a company back east some place manufacturing plastic .50 cal mags... Pre$$ €heck ventures? I wonder if they're still in the game or if they've been shut down.
Yea, that is a significant claim right there. Care to specifically post some factual info regarding that.

Call them up and ask what the "Canadian Law Comments" section says for FRT #121656. But to save you some time:
In the case of AR platform rifles chambered for the 50 Beowulf calibre, the magazine is adapted from the original 5.56x45 NATO version of the magazine but the ability of the magazine to perform as originally designed has not been compromised by the adaption. As a result such magazines are prohibited if they contain more than five 5.56x45 NATO cartridges. The magazines are in effect dual calibre magazines and are prohibited if they exceed five shots capacity of either calibre. An AR platform magazine limited to no more than five 5.56x45 NATO (223 Remington) cartridges will hold no more than two 50 Beowulf cartridges.

you get that in written form.......?![]()
i'm sorry but the general public doesnt have access to that information so I will continue until companies producing and/or these devices are shut down and face criminal charges.
LAW is found in the Criminal Code and other Acts of parliament, that is not law.
I guess we now know how the RCMP intends to deal with the "dual use" issue they have stated before on these mags when they get their way.
It will be the end user "low hanging fruit" the RCMP will go after first unfortunately. Businesses have a lot more money to throw in a legal fight.
sort of made it good spirited ribbing no ? I appreciate any info and I certainly understand the message conveyed. Honestly though I'd like to see the text is all i don't doubt something written about it exists somewhere it would just be nice to see it and the email or officials name attached to it.If the FRT table is not law, why are other things listed on that same table as prohibited not legal to own/possess in Canada?LAW is found in the Criminal Code and other Acts of parliament, that is not law.
If the FRT table is not law, why are other things listed on that same table as prohibited not legal to own/possess in Canada?
Why do importers submit rifles to the RCMP for examination to get an FRT if the table and it's contents mean nothing?
so I don't have to worry about possessing anything with a prohibited FRT entry inside of Canada, according to you it only matters for importation and has nothing to do with the law?Border services won't let it into the country without a FRT. Simple as that. Doesn't make it the law, just bureaucracy.
confident enough to say that "All magazines for 50 Beowulf calibre AR platform firearms presently on the Canadian market are prohibited devices." That's a pretty strong statement and doesn't hit paper lightly.
It is a fact that a single manufacturer was re-manufacturing 556 mags into .50 beo mags that the RCMP correctly deemed to be prohibited.
