Beretta 1301: Post your mods/upgrades!

nice gun this 1301, I have been looking at it for a few months now. not into 3 gun, but I like how flexible the platform is.
You guys have some b@lls doing this stuff to a new gun, I would panic. haha

I'm tempted to install a Limsaver recoil pad on mine but still undecided. After shooting a box full of buckshot and a half box of slugs, I didn't have any shoulder kisses, just a little sore, unlike my old pump gun. I figured trap loads should be much easier on the shoulder.

I've shot 2 matches with mine so far and it's the softest fastest shotgun I've ever shot.
It's light and has really aggressive checkering but no kick.
With my 1100 shooting trap I start bruising after 25 rounds, by 75 I'm done and have marks for days...the 1301 I get nothing.
I'm a limbsaver fan but no need on this one.

very interested on this gun!
Been looking at for years and I was the first one posting about it on CGN years ago when no one knew about it in Canada...

Curious how are the mods from Tac Ord. Doing that to the frame is very scary and I would be very OCD to make sure all lines are straight.
Wondering if they do the work by hand or the used some sort of press? How does the mod look (as far as I can see in the pics looks good, but how does it look up close?)

Thanks

TacOrd uses a milling machine and then polishes. You can easily load doubles with the loading port the way it is on the Comp model. If you want to load quads then you would probably want the port opened up more. Here is a thread of someone who did it themselves with a drill press but on a Remington: https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/for...t-opening-Did-my-own-PIC-HEAVY?highlight=1301

Just swapped out my charging handle for a Briley. Kinda wanted one like the Nordic Components but they don't make 'em for the 1301 or A400.

Dammit, why did you have to show me this? I didn't even know it existed so I didn't want it but now I do so want it, I mean need it! So anyway...where did you get it from and how much? Also, what colour is that one?

lol, I know that feeling! I didn't like the feel of the stock ribbed one. I ordered it from Performance Shooting HQ in the US. Delivery was around 15 business days. It's the Beretta A400 model in stainless black oxide which was $5.US upgrade over the anodized aluminum version.

Thanks for the info. That seems very reasonable depending on shipping. I ran my 1301 in a 3 gun yesterday and it was flawless. I find it very easy to ghost load now too, after a little practice. My only issue was I didn't have time to install the Match Saver and of course could have used it on two stages... so that cost me some time.

Just changed out the bolt release lever screw for a longer M3x10mm one. The factory one has only about 3mm of threads so not much keeping it in place. Not sure if the shorter taper of the replacement screw will be an issue in the long term but we'll see.

Haven't seen 'em advertised up here as yet but Brownells is carrying them for $135US but as a special order item ie 5-8wks delivery.

Yes, thanks to showing yours off. I bought it, didn't need it, but I needed it. I like it better than the original I just wish it had some checkering to it for a little more secure grip.

lol, no probs. Yeah, I'd like a slightly meatier checkered one like the Nordic Comp or similar.

KE Arms recently came out with one. I don't think they ship to Canada. Hopefully more options will start showing up as popularity of the 1301 increases.

Got the SGA Stock adapter installed just in time for the last 3 gun match.

The stock accessory interests me
how did the shotgun run with the new stock over the factory, how was your score-times-reloads...better, equal or worse then factory.

Much appreciated
Trevor

I find the SGA to have superior ergonomics and adjustability to the original stock. In addition, it feels more solid. There was essentially no difference in my times with the exception that maybe the stock landed in a more natural position when shooting and therefore perhaps it helped my accuracy and speed, but this is not a metric I could measure.
