Bull's-Eye said:CZ hands down. Owned an American model and it damn near shot as well as my custom Ruger 10/22 which was almost triple the price.![]()

Best bang for the bug IMHO is a used vintage Mossberg.![]()
I will keep my eyes open at the gunshow in april thou

But at 499 plus tax its quite a jump for my first rimfire!
What would you guys recommend for sub 300$ guns?

I garuntee no where as much as you'll shoot a .22 rifle. You will put thousands of rounds through it a year, neglect it, bang it and in other words, use it. That's where I would suggest putting your money. Everyone should know the joys of owning a good .22. And you'll be proud as a new papa wandering around the woods or fields with a beautiful rifle.
