I think it would be prudent to carry the gun I shoot best..handle best..reload/clear jam fastest, point most naturally, etc.
But..Im going to wager that in many cases (mine anyway) these are often large framed, heavier competition pistols..the ones we shoot most.
These would be less suitable for everyday carry, due to weight and size, particularly if you are of smaller stature, are constantly on the move, what have you.
So I would likely pick a polymer gun, be it a Glock or an M&P, 9mm or 40. Then, in the imaginary land where I was granted the ATC..I would have to shoot it until I could handle it as well as favorite or competition guns.
