It does in the sense that in the case of a SHTF scenario our dear old Government would immediately seize all the restricted and prohibited firearms they know of, while leaving the subsitance hunters (who use non-restricted firearms, and those who own "antiques" not in the books) relatively alone .... That's me theory anyway.
sks and a hack saw.
pump 12 of your choice is always good too ... but lacks range.
Hey all,
Which one do you consider as the ultimate SHTF non-restricted ? My heart goes to the PE-90, but weight might make it somewhat less desirable. Let's hear ya!!
Definitely consider a Mossberg 590 with some aftermarket modifications...mine has a Mesa Tactical side saddle and a Hogue reduced LOP overmolded stock...9 rounds of 2.75" 000 Buck and an extra 6 of 3" magnum slugs will certainly deal with any close and moderate range threats that you may encounter. It can also be easily equipped with optics as well as they are drilled and tapped for Weaver/Picatinny rail mounts.
In this country, any civilian carrying any gun, would most likely be identified as an enemy combatant by default.
LOL.
If the SHTF you wouldnt be worried if your gun was restrcted or not.
Lacks capacity, excessive recoil, excessive muzzle report. The shotgun is a poor choice. The SKS is far better but is no match for the VZ IMO.
TDC
i really need to get my C-catagory license ( collectors ) we can own fully auto firearms in nz.. you just cant shoot them :/
but as someone has said.. in a SHTF situation .. who cares
Hi:
I think the point on the thread is best non-restricted - because many don't have restricted or prohibited guns to begin with. So if you don't have them before something happens - you're not likely to get your hands on one afterwards...
Best choice would be something that every other hunter has ammo for. You could always barter for more. SO that would likely be the major hunting calibers (.30-06, .308, shotgun rounds, .22). Really just about anything that YOU have with LOTS of ammo for (like 7.62, .223). Or have all above just in case.
KB.
Only the guy on the receiving end.
I prefer the 870 myself, 'cause I always feel in an SHTF situation, the one thing you never want to do is leave cripples.
