The Tavor is my first bullpup and to be honest, I prefer bullpups by large over everything else I've shot so far. But I admit the feel is not for everyone. I really suggest before you take everyone's opinion on the tavor, or the FRB or the T97 that you go to a gunstore and hold one of them to your shoulder with your cheek pressed into the butt.

I thought I wouldn't like them because I'm a pretty big guy (6.2 feet), but surprisingly the Tavor is incredibly comfortable. But thats a personal feel thing. Shooting position in the Israeli style is a bit weird, but after you get used to it, it's again very very comfortable, the rifle is perfectly balanced and you practically feel none of it's weight on your hands and arms.

I'm definitely in love with bullpups now and I'll be looking at that rfb soon as well.

Perhaps the best out of the box Bench shooting rifle, not as practical without swapping out a lot of parts and possible re-profiling the barrel as well..

But yeah that is 3 rifles I forgot now actually 4 including the mini-14...

Just grabbed my tavor at canadian tire of all places, on stratford, great prices. NiB case mag sling and all. Its funny cus as i was driving there and i had to go through tavorsford! No travisford, bit when thats whats on your mind... We had a good chuckle :)

why only one choice?

these would be the ones on my must have list

Keltec RFB
FAMAE SG542 or swiss arms SAPR if it ever comes out
Swiss arms
HK SL8
Keltech CFB when it comes out

Tavor and RFB are my favorite Non-restricted black rifles. Yes, i have a THING for bulpups.. :) IMHO Kel-tec RFB is the ultimate mid range hunting gun. And tavor is great for just about everything else.. :)

I'd have to say XCR-L 223 (not XCR-M as 308 vs 223 is apples and oranges). Here is why:
- ease of replacement parts (with the exception of possibly the SA). HUGE PLUS
- availability of aftermarket parts, support and availability.
- modern manual of arms. Can transition to week shoulder without eating brass (yes I've heard some say they can shoot left but I tried it and it SUCKED). can do everything one can do with the AR.
- as accurate as the others listed (with the exception of the SA)
- lighter and cheaper than a non restricted SA (the reason I chose the XCR over the SA)

Once there becomes a readily available parts source for the other rifles I will stand by the XCR (I wish even that was better). My equal number two is the CZ858 in 7.62 for pretty much the same reasons as above but feel the XCR has the edge in being 223 and taking AR mags. What good is having the best NR Black Rifle but have it sit dormant for 6 to 8 months for a broken part.
