It uses pointed set screws that locate into pockets on the barrel. Pg 15 of the manual shows that. I don't think the WK180 does this?
.223 5.56 and .300BO all use the same bolt. Fairly good chance this is a common 180 bolt so x39 bolts from other manufacturers or AR15 bolts with the gas rings removed might work.Thread locking the gas block in concert with the more flexible and forgiving nature of the two part piston op rod at a mid length should be enough to prevent the piston snapping, hopefully.
If Bill 21 goes through , hopefully BCL can provide the bolt for the 7.62x39mm and .300 Blackout for sale; the bolt itself should not be prohibited, and what one does with it is ones own business.
Well, I’ve got a bunch of photos but I’m not sure where to host/upload them?
I can confirm the gas block is held via two pocketed set screws.
I lean towards disassembling this rifle when you purchase it as there is a distinct lack of lube/grease on it as delivered, and I found a couple of the screws seemed on the loose side and could benefit from a drop or two of loctite I’d say.
Overall disassembly is pretty simple though. I didn’t get into removing the trigger assembly because I’m just not looking to mess with the springs at the moment.
I’m not sure I quite get the how to share, but at least here’s a link to the album. I got some shots comparing it to my R18 as well.

Yeah the gas block needs to be removed, there’s no way to get the piston out otherwise.
You can't remove the piston and cup without removing the gas block? If that's actually the case that's a ridiculous design flaw.
I figured it'd be like the original where there is enough play between the cup and rod that you can pull them apart and slide them off.
There are a few things that raise my eyebrow on this, the first being the fact you have to take the gas block out to effectively clean the gas as Dave mentions above, and also the captured guide rod with the wire ring isn't what I'd consider an upgrade.
how about splitting the upper and lower, would that release the piston from the block after the carrier is removed? can the handguard be removed without any difficulty? not crazy about removing the block to clean the piston.

thanks for stripping it down, I'm going to go back and clarify what I posted earlier. no way in hades am I going to remove the gas block to clean the piston, if anything I'm reaching for the red loctite to keep it in place. now going back to my earlier post, can the upper and lower be easily separated so one can insert a reaction rod and spin the barrel nut off? this is very inconvenient but from my perspective the only way to get at the piston and block for a proper scrubbing without taking the block off the barrel.
