If you work in a lawful occupation that issues you body armor is there anything on your personal end you must now do or is it up to the employer to do something?

If you own personal armor you might use for part-time work what are the implications now?

not all body armor is made or designed for military use
as i read it civillian armor is NOT in this description

This how I would view it... the intent of this is based onthe UN trying to exert control over tools of conflict. and maintain control. i am horrified....

If you read the regulations they are all about people and getting registered and approved.... its not controlled goods regulations its "Controlled Persons Regulations"...

All items under Group 2 (item 2-1 to 2-22):
These items are munitions specifically designed or modified for military use such as:

•Weapons and ammunitions (machine guns & anti-tank weapons);
•Bombs, torpedoes, mines and missiles;
•Warning systems;
•Military vehicles (tanks), vessels (submarines) and combat aircraft;
•Chemical, biological and radioactive material which is used in war; and
•Protective equipment (armoured plate and body armour).

dont see where civilian body armor applies
also no one regesters their gps recievers either

prob just some burocratt expanding his fiefdom

I have been battling this for years. It is all slowly creeping in to the minds of those who own items on the list.

The next guys affected are the owners of old jeeps, bren carriers, etc.

No one seems to have informed the general public.

They have already banned body armor sales to the general public in several provinces ( mine is one of them) under Provincial law as part of their anti gang laws that make it an offense to fortify houses with steel plating, buy or posses body armor and put armor plating or bulletproof materials in vehicles. It's :bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug:ing ridiculous. I knew it was only a matter of time before they tried to make it country wide. Soon the general public will be able to arm themselves with nothing more than spitwads. Time to move to Mexico......

the way the wording is written...in fact they can make it retroactive in a way too. If the military adopts an item that is in civilian use the the item falls designate under the law. Say for instance the military adopts the home alarm system you havein your house. That would be defined as detection equipment and under their control now. This CGD thing is turning into Big Brother...its not hype.

AS for biblical...it was...huge...Herr Wyatt has put his neck on this line

I have a Second Chance body armour vest hanging under my postie shirt in the closet. No, it's not illegal but a lot of people think it is. Some people just like to panic and worry for nothing I guess.

Does any one have a link to where it says body armour is a controlled good in the legislation and not on their website?

Because I searched both protective equipment and body armour and they are not mentioned in any of the following legislation:

Defence Production Act
Export Control List
Controlled Goods Regulations
Export and Import Permits Act

You can blame the biker gangs,etc who used illegal body amour in the course of their crime. Just like gun registry, politicians voted on this because of some illegal ppl using body armour. Started out in BC, go google.

Is a smoke detector a warning system? Is a dashboard radar detector a warning system? Is a computer firewall a warning system?

By strict definition, the military uses scouts and sentries and lookouts as "warning systems", ergo if you are doing any of those you are now a controlled good and need to be registered.

This is unfortunate, I was hoping to buy some from you. I think it would increase my FPS videogame scores by at least 13%.
