If you break a boresnake, it was either frayed/cut to begin with or you are cleaning too violently. I bet I could tie a stirrup grip to one side of my boresnake and swing my bodyweight from it!
Also, if you end up with a piece jammed halfway through your bore, simply load a blank round and fire in a safe direction. (Just kidding, don't do that.)
