Brand new .223 available in Canada - NS with FRT

I wonder how many actual shooters can shoot better than 2moa consistently with a proven accurate rifle? I see the back boards and baffles at my local club and seeing targets left posted I figure 6moa is the average for my 100m range.
At least the company advertises it as 2moa. I'm out because I just don't want a semi auto 223.
25/45 sharps or 458 socom or something like that I'd be very interested

My Dad bought a couple because he thought “they were a good deal”. I told him you get what you pay for and generally Turkish shotguns are not known for longevity or reliability.

Needless to say on his third outing with the O/U, the trigger mechanism failed catastrophically. The pump made it to about 250 rounds before the extractor broke. He ended up getting them repaired and selling them at a loss.

Don’t take my word for it though. Just ask James Reeves of TFB TV. Not a single Turkish shotgun he used survived a 500 round burn down. Spend your money how you like.
To be fair, burn downs are not really great sources of practical information. You basically are abusing them. I watched a gas tube sag on a C7.. So in theroy it must be ####, but they're not designed to run FA all the time, mag dump after mag dump. They're not machine guns. They're not designed for sustained fire.

Mag dump videos are for entertainment and not the best for, here they are reliable.

That BCL Siberian mag dump video, that it failed after 4K. Yet there were people that running them normally and over 4K round without too many issues.

FRT & all..w0w -Gee thanks Libz..feels like they're throwing us a somewhat {fu} bone..
I'm familiar with the old age 223/vs.\5.56. Using this example: the last batch of Norinco AR's..were all stamped: .223, but even the importer was saying it was 100% 5.56 compliant.
Any chance this .223 hunting rifle, can handle a diet of 5.56? As I'm sure many have some almost un-usable 5.56 kicking a'round...

No hunting at all? Or is it a limit for larger game animals?
BC doesn't have any such limit as far as I know.
As far as I know, can't hunt with it, but you can use it for predator control, like killing 'yotes.
Gotta be bigger than .243 I think. I'm sure Ab hunters on here will correct me if I'm wrong.

Does anyone liked video westrifle posted on Instagram?
Just came across the **Alcor .223**—a **non-restricted semi-auto** designed specifically for the Canadian market by Akdas and Westrifle.
- **Built as a hunting rifle** (not a "push-button"
- **NR status** (always a plus these days)
- **Price seems reasonable** for what you get
With semi-auto options getting harder to find, this one might be worth a look. Anyone handled one yet? Curious how it runs. Who ever buys one please post more pictures or videos. Does anyone know if Cabelas have it in stock?

I thought I had read that they were looking to allow 223 for hunting in Alberta. I not to get into the arguments for and against that.

It sounds like it might be a similar item but by a different vendor then the one whose subsection you are currently posting in..... why deal with probably paying more at Cabelas when a CGN sponsor has units in stock right now?

Right?? Cabela's does not need our money. Support the struggling local small gun business everyone!

Looks like the barrel is removable for cleaning, just wondering if it holds zero after reassembly.
The one advantage the MR1 has over this is that the barrel is attached to the upper receiver when it’s removed for cleaning.

I would expect this rifle to maintain nero when assembled and disassembled. It’s probably why the stated accuracy is 2”.

It is now the only game in town, so I’m not regretting my purchase.

I’m surprised to see they aren’t selling well. Then again, it’s not anywhere near my first choice. This thing truly is a cope rifle. 🤷‍♂️

I have four Troy PAR’s that I bought because they are fun, I bought them way before this Liberal 💩.

I wouldn’t give this thing a second look if anything else was available.

If folks are like me they are hoping for a conservative government and that they will be allowed to take their firearms back to the range. Or if the liberals get back in and polysouvent is our minister of public safety then this will be banned faster than Carney can say OIC.

Still 39 in stock, apparently they are not selling?

Any guesses why?
"It's the Economy Stupid" comes to mind, plus it's a new to the market item with no real track record to speak of.

The CZ 600 Alpha's that Tod put on sale for likely close to cost went in less then 24hours... $666 delivered, This Turkish Yote Blaster is almost 3 times the price after tax and shipping.

Plus no doubt some might want to wait until the end of the month and see if Stanag Fed Semi's are next on the Liberal chopping block.... :(

Well there's a few reasons of the top of my head.... :)
