Brand new .223 available in Canada - NS with FRT

With a bit of research, I found the following info:
1. AKDAŞ Firearms Inc. makes two versions, Alcor 223 and Alcor 223 PB.
a. Semi-Auto version. (Canada, Europe).
b. Push button "semi-auto version". (Australia and the rest of the restricted markets).
2. AKDAŞ Firearms Inc. partnered up with Sterling Arms and was making their R18 latest version and R9.
3. AKDAŞ Firearms Inc. works in the military sector, they produce under-barrel grenade launchers for the Turkish Army.
(based on that, I can only assume they have excellent quality control).
4. Established in 1948. (So not a fly-by-night Turkish company).
5. Priced in Australia is $1599.99 AUD about $1400 CAD (for PB version).
6 . AKDAŞ Firearms Inc./Sterling Arms R9 version is $1599.99.
7. AKDAŞ Firearms Inc./Sterling Arms R18 is $1900 TBA.
8. FRT for Alcor rifle exist. Approved for sale by Firearms Canada.
Conclusion:
This company has a good track record and is produced for the defence sector. They have an R&D department and QC department.
We have to wait for actual reviews as soon as they are sold to the Canadian market.
The price point in today's market with no other .223 rifles is about right.

If the accuracy is poor, what’s the point?

Spray & Pray?…..:(
I don't think we know for sure what it is.... soon enough! If the guy that said the factory advertises it as a 2moa rifle I think most will be happy and maybe some will get better with custom loads and the odd barrel that "just shoots"
:)

Sounds like a UK thing.... not yet a Canadian thing! Get out to vote and bring a few people who never vote with you.....

Edit, took a look on the tube and it looks like the Aussie's are coping with their bad govt's by pushing buttons instead of voting for change!

:)
Maybe an Australian thing? (Before their newest revision). Wouldn't be suprised if it was originally meant for Aussie market

You could have a group size as much as 6.250” at 300 yards, to me that is not a coyote gun unless you like educating many coyotes.
My property is heavily wooded and undulating - my longest shot could be 100 yards, if I travel a ways I could manage a 200 yard shot. Realistically my longest shot is 75-100 yards.

I totally get what you're saying tho. It's no Remington 700. I'd expect similar groups to a Ruger Ranch Mini.

An awful lot of coyotes have hit the dirt from a Mini-14 which was 2MOA on a good day. And lots of 2MOA semi autos have sold very well. Tavor, T97, T81, and most off the shelf AR15's were 2MOA rifles until AR15s recent years.

I kind of want to buy one and put a few hundred handloads through it and see what accuracy I can get but I have to factor in how much time I have to factor in how much time I have as spring gets pretty busy for me!

Was wondering when some Turkish 223 rifles would be showing up
Kind of interested, but not till I hear some feedback.

Oof $1500? At this point, the Crypto is looking better and that’s not saying much. Appreciate the effort to bring something new in though! Look forward to the video update.
